Up here in the Rockie Mountains of British Columbia the snow gets deep, real deep. Anyway my main source of heat comes from my wood furnace along with my fireplace. I have just about used up all the split firewood that is close to my doors. I have 2 cords of wood stacked out of the way, about 100 feet or so in my yard.
This was my reserve pile that is not quite seasoned yet but it will have to do as I figure I'm down to about 5 days worth of wood. The issue is that the snow in my yard is close to 4 feet deep, how the heck am I supposed to get to it?
So I put on my deep snow snowshoes, these are the biggest set I have and are about 3 feet long. I snowshoed to the wood then back again tamping the snow down. By the time I finished I had a hard packed trail made. Then I got my shovel and dug out my wheelbarrow then dragged it along my new trail thereby making a good, deep wheel rut.
I do believe that when I place the split firewood into the wheelbarrow, that I will be able to transport the wood to my closest door....mission accomplished.

Do you have a wood delivery coming or are you going to source your own?

^^^ A bit of both, I do get firewood delivered all dried and split. But people often call me to get rid of the wood when they fall a tree on their property. It's hard for an old guy like me to haul, split and stack wood. But at 70 years of age I'm still able to do it.
