Hi I am getting an Instant Pot for my birthday (not exciting but I'm pleased about it). What do you like to cook? What works? What was an unmitigated disaster?

Hang on,I will give you my favorite. Actually everything by this recipe creator that I've tried has been top notch, so go ahead and check out his site. pressureluckcooking.com/instant-pot-roast/ I wish I could give you my bookmark folder for Instant Pot recipes, I have a lot of good ones bookmarked. Do you have a way to convert American measurements into European ones? I use this site when making a Gordon Ramsay recipe. www.convertrecipe.com/convert_US_to_UK.php

OMG - I just went & read the recepie & that looks soooo good! Hang on,I will give you my favorite. It was you I was thinking of when I created this thread. I know in the past that you have said how good they are. I don't usually convert US to UK as 1 "cup" is around 8oz (don't get me started with metric). I'm more of a do-it-by-eye chef but I do have to admit the Gordon Ramsey stuff I did follow & it turned out amazing! Thanks Daphodil I will check out that one too!

You will love your instant pot! It took me awhile to try it after I got it... I was convinced I'd blow up the kitchen. But it is super easy to use and I love it. One of my faves: Butter Chicken

Thanks Tulip. I didn't fall down a rabbit hole reading that & thinking about tomorrow's dinner! I have to wait til November to use it & my mother said it has to go to theirs at the weekend (they are currently away otherwise I would just have had it delivered to them) Paid £129 instead of £180/£200 due to Amazon flash thing. Forgive the house stuff I am still working on it.

Ok, opened the box finally after being ill on my birthday & not being able to go see my folks.
It is MASSIVE. Didn't expect it to be as big as that! It beeps & that might get irritating.
Made leek & potato soup. Used the saute function, pressure cook and then it did the "keep warm" by itself.
Surprisingly easy to use. Soup was great and I bought myself a Cuisinart cordless immersion blender that is super-fast.

I've been making brown rice every few days. I use broth instead of water and add whatever spices trip my trigger. Really good and super easy

That sounds good!
I need to portion & freeze the soup.
I bought some sausages for sausage casserole today. I have tomato sausages and 3 different colour of bell pepper for it. I may even chuck some brown rice or lentals in there.
