I don't think Charlie Chaplin fits. All his daughters seem to have married and had children and careers and are, as far as I can tell, all still alive. Marlon and Cheyenne Brando fits, but the accusation that he molested her is old news as she made the allegations of extremely inappropriate touching in an interview with Paris Match in 1993. I couldn't find the original interview online but someone from Data Lounge has transcribed it and you can read it HERE if you are interested. Cheyenne had one child, a son called Tuki Brando, with her boyfriend Dag Drollet. Drollet died after being shot by Cheyenne's half-brother Christian a little over a month before Tuki was born. Dag Drollet's parents were friends of Marlon Brando. Wow, that's quite an interview. Thanks for the link, Kitty. (I haven't visited DL in years, so that was a fun rabbit hole, lol.) |

The blind doesn't say the daughter is dead, just that she was pregnant by the father. Also, in the case of Brando, why would this even be a blind item at this point? All the principal figures - Marlon, Christian, and Cheyenne, are dead. You can't libel the dead. It's like saying, "This is a really sad story from the golden age of Rome. Dad, is a permanent A-list kooky emperor. Rumors were he had sex with his sister, elected a horse to the Senate, and turned a barge into a floating whorehouse. Hint: it's not Kirk Douglas!" It does Mo - As for why this is a BI when this is an old rumour, my guess is sheer laziness and clickbait by CDAN. That and maybe Tuki Brando might call in his lawyers if CDAN or anyone else starts openly stating that his grandfather is also his father. As far as I've been able to find out he's had a successful career modelling for Versace and is currently combining it with studying medicine. |

That's a good explanation, Kitty. I think accusing someone of being the result of incest would probably be libel. And I totally missed CDAN saying that the daughter had died. Another thing I got hung up on, but didn't mention was that they said "several of his children". I thought Brando had only two, but I just looked it up and he actually had a whole bunch - as many as 11.

According to the blind, this did not stop until she died, which suggests that he outlived her. Marlon died in 2004 & Cheyenne died in 1995. The Paris Match interview came out two years before she died. It sounds like they were estranged, so while it somewhat fits, "until her death" sounds like it never stopped. It could be hyperbole, but it conflicts with the estrangement described in the interview. However, going through a list of golden age actors, no one else really fits. I think all of Charlie Chaplin's daughters are still alive. |

I just googled photos of Tuki Brando, and he looks a lot like Dag Drollett. That's not to say that the majority of the blind isn't true, but I don't think Marlon is the boy's father.

Yes, Brando's ex Tarita said in her book (I haven't read it, but so they say) that he molested Cheyenne. From an article: "Teriipia claims she found an entry in her daughter's diary after the 25-year-old had hanged herself, which confirmed her worst fears about her ex-husband's relationship with his then teenage daughter.
Chaplin's many children seem normal and healthy, with productive, busy lives. And though he dated/married teenagers, I've never heard anything darker than that about him. By contrast, Brando's children were overtly damaged and tragic and all his relationships were apparently unhappy and violent. Tarita also said that Brando was just brutally abusive and cruel, in any case. I know a lot of people love his acting but he's one of a handful of classic Hollywood actors who always made my flesh crawl. It bugs me that he's never been outed for the pig he was.

My mom hated him - not because of the stories about his kids that had not come out yet - but because he had done something weird, like donated some family land to native Americans without consulting his sister, who also owned the property. If you knew my mom's family history, that would be a REALLY sore point. Brilliant actor, very publicly supported a lot of worthy civil rights causes, but does sound like an awful human being. |
