I think Harry putting this all out there of what the spare goes through will benefit Charlotte and Louis in the future. People won’t be so quick to dogpile them once they realize the nature of the firm’s tactics. In an ideal world, people would indeed understand what he/they are saying and the little ones of the next generation will benefit from their revelations. but i think a lot of people don't believe it. not sure why. But I agree: the public opinion on them is so disproportionally negative and hostile, that no matter what they do or don't do, they just can't win. I mean, I see on other social media that some people are defending H&M and trying to explain to the negative ones that the British royals have always been sketchy (for lack of a better term) and name much worse recent examples like Andrew and older ones like Margareth. But the whole trend is so against them that people are even defending the ones who really did disgusting stuff. And of course there's the racism factor which everybody is in total denial about.

🤮
--He said it was "with an older lady, who loved horses very much and treated me like a young stallion".
The excerpt read: "'I mounted her quickly, after which she spanked my ass and held me back… one of my mistakes was letting it happen in a field, just behind a busy pub. No doubt someone had seen us'."--
Oh Ew,WTF? Does his ghost writer usually author cheesy romances? Young stallion? Mounted? Oh c'mon. How embarrassing.

Prince Harry will reveal the details of a sensational row between Meghan and Kate in his new book, the Mail has learned. During the run up to the Sussexes' wedding in May 2018, Harry writes that Meghan told Kate that she must have 'baby brain because of her hormones'. Kate, who gave birth to her third child, Prince Louis, a month before Meghan and Harry's wedding, was understandably upset by the accusation. But Meghan also became offended because she was reprimanded for her comments. A well-placed source said: 'In the book Harry says that there was a discussion about the timing of the wedding rehearsal and the flower girl dresses and Kate was very upset. 'Meghan said that Kate must have ''baby brain'' because of her hormones. 'It caused a huge row because Meghan was told that she wasn't close enough to her sister-in-law to discuss her hormones and it wasn't the way people spoke to each other within the Royal Family. www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-11602431/Meghan-offended-reprimanded-insulting-Kate.htmlMaybe it's because I've never had kids but what's the big deal about making a comment about having "baby brain"? I've heard it so many times from other women, both during and after pregnancy. Is Kate truly such a Royal Wifebot that she's bought into the "pulling rank within the private family" bollocks? Is she trying to out-Royal the Royals? I think Harry putting this all out there of what the spare goes through will benefit Charlotte and Louis in the future. People won’t be so quick to dogpile them once they realize the nature of the firm’s tactics. Charlotte and Louis will be fine. Probably more than fine, unless there's a monumental shift in the way the press operates. Archie and Lili, however... The media has chosen who is to be sainted and who is to be reviled and I think that they'll carry that on to the next generation, if given a chance. but i think a lot of people don't believe it. not sure why. Because they don't want to. They want the BRF (and the aristocracy as a whole) to remain pristine and pure (and pale) because that matches their ideas of what it should be. Meghan isn't the only one who has been given a rough ride by certain sections of society, but has had it a lot worse because she's married closer to the ruling bloodline. The Marchioness of Bath is also biracial and that has been known to raise a few hackles among certain comment sections too.

That makes sense. I've never used that term myself but have heard it said often and by so many women that it was easy for me to overlook the wider implications.

"Baby brain" and discussing it is NOT a big deal whatsoever. Human pregnant women are hormonal. These people aren't robots. "Baby brain" is pretty commonplace theory, casually and frankly discussed here. You could pick up a women's magazine in a supermarket and read an article about it.
They really have a bigger stick up their asses than I already thought if they'd consider this scandalous or outrageous. It's not like she said it as a statement of fact. If anything she was being gracious and giving her an "out" for acting like a see-you-next-tuesday (don't wanna cause anyone to pass out by saying cunt).
I think they were reaching here if this shit upset them. No one needs to be close relations to float the theory that a pregnant chick's hormones might be a factor in her behavior.
But it was a handy thing to jump on to put Meghan in her place, which is what the goal probably was anytime she started to feel a little bit like she was actually making headway with them. God for-fucking-bid these people let their hair down and dispense with at least a few useless formalities with one another in their own home.

I'm all about healthy boundaries. But this has got to be a prime example of a cultural divide.
I don't find this condescending one little bit, regardless of familiarity. I found it an example of Meghan trying to be gracious and excuse bad behavior.
But this is why they would want anyone in this family marrying someone from the outside (especially an American) to be together long enough for that person to be completely steeped in the culture in which these people grew up before they had to deal with them on a familiar basis like this.
Once upon an age, they gave a shitload of guidance and mentors and people to teach proper protocol all that jazz. Even Diana (who was a white Brit aristo handpicked by THEM) had "lessons" on how to act and what to say and how generally not to fuck up too bad when breathing the same rarified air of these people.
Meghan really never had a chance in hell, IMO. Compared to Kate with her 10 year wait, Meg was with Harry five minutes. But these folks gotta know they can't make these chicks all wait ten years. Especially if they expect babies.

I've never been a fan of making fun of women's hormones or using them as an excuse for a woman's behavior, so I think I'd be pretty miffed if someone I barely knew blamed my behavior on "baby brain" - especially if it was something I was genuinely upset about. It's just dismissive IMO.
With that said, I like Harry and Meghan but I'm a little on overload with their drama (and really the entire BRF) at the moment.

ITA. some women may be hormonal during their period, but do you want to be the one to say, 'hey, you're being sensitive because you're on the rag'?? but if meghan had actually said that it would've been pretty funny.

It could have been said in a kind manner and meant to smooth things over, but for two women who were already tense around each other, and one who was obviously hormonal, it would almost inevitably not be taken well. Meghan was offered "lessons" but turned them down - remember? From Lady "Where are you really from? Where are your people from?" Susan. What an ungrateful commoner. (eyeroll)

context is everything. if it's someone teasing their close friend about baby brain it's totally fine, but with someone you're not close to i just would never go there. i don't know how meghan meant it. it's possible she was trying to be playful toward kate and it didn't land because they were never close enough for it to be ok for her to have said that in which case it's a little inappropriate but harmless in intent, but if she was actually saying that kate's decision making was impaired by hormones, that's just fucking rude and not ok.
