She's cute but not particularly magnetic to me. She just gives off a bossy, perfectionist vibe. Agreed. I sometimes find that adorable in a little girl though.

I think Charlotte will start outshining her mother when she's in her teens and the Princess of Wales has hit the inevitable menopausal wall. Charlotte does have a spark that I didn't see in her father when he was growing up and at that age. I recognized her solemn expression and behavior at the Queen's funeral-our daughter was the same at that age when she had to be very serious indeed. It's fun watching her grow up. menopausal wall? kathy is only 40. unless she has hit early menopause, she has a few good years left.

lol yeah she’s old and dried up don’t you know? A regular menopausal hag who has to regularly dust her vag.

I'm not agreeing with the comment but Cartermrc wasn't talking about Kate hitting a wall now but when Charlotte is in her teens.

I’m pretty sure Kate will still look great in 10 years too

Newsflash: Not everyone turns into a hot mess at menopause. Some of us hold it together pretty damn well or dare I say, better?
I have no doubt Kate will be in that category.

I'm not agreeing with the comment but Cartermrc wasn't talking about Kate hitting a wall now but when Charlotte is in her teens. gotcha. but i still think kate will be fine (at least outwardly). she seems to be well groomed and while i don't really like her style most of the time, she takes care of herself and clearly puts her best foot forward. kinda the opposite of fergie in her day. who was always good for a laugh.

I guess it’s an unpopular opinion around here but Kate looks bad now. Fresh out of Botox/PS she looks ok but whatever she’s doing doesn’t last long for some reason. She is not going to age well when she looks this old at 40. 40 is young. Eating even just a little more and quitting smoking would really help I think. People can’t help stuff like wrinkles (I guess? Or can they?) but I think it’s the extreme dieting that ages her. Having no fat in your face is rough on your looks as you age. She and I are the same age (I think I am actually older) but she looks significantly, significantly older than me. I would put her in her 50s in non-photoshopped pics I see of her. She doesn’t have a ton of sun damage that I can see but her skin still looks old.
Her face looked… tight at the funeral.

I definitely don't think she looks 50.
Could she have looked younger if not for the years of smoking and dieting and stress of being married to a cheating prick and the pressure of never putting so much as a pinky toe out of line? Of course. At 40 I could pass for way younger than she does here.
But I don't think she looks 50. She looks about her age, minus a few years on a good day.

I was just checking out the DailyBeast, and they had a couple of pretty interesting articles. This is one, the other one is that King Charles is going to send Harry and Meghan into some kind of permanent exile: www.thedailybeast.com/meghan-markle-screamed-at-staff-left-them-broken-and-shaking-with-fear-new-book-claims?ref=homeNew accounts of alleged bullying behaviour by Meghan Markle have been published in a bombshell extract of a new book by The London Times’ royal correspondent Valentine Low, the respected reporter who first reported that formal complaints had been made about Meghan by senior Buckingham Palace staff that she bullied employees. In the new extract from Low’s book, entitled Courtiers: the Hidden Power Behind the Crown due to be published early next month in the U.K., Low alleges that Meghan repeatedly left staff in tears and shaking with fear after subjecting them to, or in anticipation of, angry tirades. Low also alleges that after a series of public engagements in Australia, Meghan was overheard by several people to say, “I can’t believe I’m not getting paid for this.” Low writes that in 2017, six months before the couple were even engaged, she told an adviser of Harry’s: “I think we both know I’m going to be one of your bosses soon.” Low alleges that Meghan saw it as an “insult” to have to deal with junior staff and when gently advised in late 2017 to go easy on her and Harry’s staff, is said to have replied: “It’s not my job to coddle people.” After speaking to one individual “particularly harshly” in front of other staff Meghan, it is alleged, told the person: “Don’t worry. If there was literally anyone else I could ask to do this, I would be asking them instead of you.” Low says that Prince William, hearing of the incident, consoled the woman, assuring her she was doing a “really good job,” causing her to burst into tears. One staffer who missed a call from Meghan is reported to have said: “She hasn’t called back. I feel terrified...This is so ridiculous. I can’t stop shaking.” Low details a claim by a member of staff that Meghan and Harry repeatedly upbraided them by phone on a Friday night while the staffer was out for dinner. The anonymous staffer is quoted as saying: “Every ten minutes, I had to go outside to be screamed at by her and Harry. It was, ‘I can’t believe you’ve done this. You’ve let me down. What were you thinking?’ It went on for a couple of hours.” The staffer alleged the calls continued “for days,” adding, “You could not escape them. There were no lines or boundaries—it was last thing at night, first thing in the morning.” Another source tells Low: “There were a lot of broken people. Young women were broken by their behavior.” Meghan has previously denied allegations of bullying. They were published just before Meghan’s bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey was broadcast. “Let's just call this what it is—a calculated smear campaign based on misleading and harmful misinformation,” a statement from the Sussexes’ spokesperson released in March 2021 read. “We are disappointed to see this defamatory portrayal of the Duchess of Sussex given credibility by a media outlet. It's no coincidence that distorted several-year-old accusations aimed at undermining the duchess are being briefed to the British media shortly before she and the duke are due to speak openly and honestly about their experience of recent years.”

Those allegations were investigated and the findings were, guess what, buried. It’s pretty obvious that if there were any merit to the claims then the Firm would have made sure the Daily Mail had them on the front page for a week.
I don’t think the Sussexes are angels, but I do think Charles and William and all of their leaking courtiers treat them like shit, and they can go ahead and try and exile Harry, but I’m guessing he doesn’t really care to come back anyway.

Here is a link to the long version of the Times article with the extracts from the book. Interesting article. No idea how much is true but they both sound exhausting to deal with. archive.ph/DyX3BThx, Sarzy. I'm very interested to see what it says. Here is (part of) the other article: www.thedailybeast.com/prince-harry-will-be-permanently-exiled-by-ruthless-king-charles-sources-say?ref=homeA palace source said Edward VIII and Wallis Simpson were the blueprint, so Harry and Meghan come to be seen as “unimportant, misguided, disloyal, and even treacherous individuals.” Prince Harry faces a life of permanent “exile,” with King Charles plotting to follow the playbook drawn up by the royals as they overcame the crisis triggered by Edward VIII, the king who abdicated in 1936 and was obliged to live the rest of his life outside the U.K., The Daily Beast understands. A friend of the king’s told The Daily Beast: “The royals handled the abdication crisis by exiling Edward which meant he and Wallis ultimately came to seem like unimportant, misguided, disloyal, and even treacherous individuals to almost the entirety of the British people. It was a masterful operation in the service of which the Queen Mother, in particular, worked tirelessly. “The same thing is already happening with Harry and Meghan, and will only gather pace over the next few years under the rule of King Charles. And of course a wayward second son is far less of an existential threat to the fabric of the monarchy than a wayward king.” Another source, a former Buckingham Palace staffer, told The Daily Beast that King Charles’ accession statement, in which he encouraged his son and Meghan to “continue to build their lives overseas” was an undisguised message to them to not disrupt his reign by making frequent trips to the U.K. “Harry and Meghan will get an invite to the coronation but they will be firmly seated in the cheap seats along with Beatrice and Eugenie, as they were at the funeral. That will be it. Charles will be ruthless when it comes to protecting the Crown, and that means keeping Harry and Meghan as far from the center of gravity as possible,” the former staffer told The Daily Beast. The news follows the revelation, reported by the Sun Thursday night, that Harry snubbed Charles’ offer of dinner the night he was at Balmoral following Queen Elizabeth’s death, after Charles had forbidden Meghan from joining Harry at Balmoral. Instead of joining Charles, Camilla, and William for supper at Charles’ home on the Balmoral estate, Birkhall, Harry stayed with Prince Andrew, Prince Edward and wife Sophie at Balmoral Castle itself. A source said: “Harry was so busy trying to get Meghan to Balmoral and rowing with his family that he missed the flight. Charles has an open invitation for Harry to dine with him whenever he is in the country. But Harry was so furious that he refused to eat with his father and brother. It was a massive snub. And he got out of Balmoral at the earliest opportunity to catch the first commercial flight back to London.”

Exactly how is Charles going to send them into permanent exile? They left. They are free to come to England and visit their friends and charities as much as they want as private citizens. Half the articles have been about how Charles is snubbing them and/or is going to banish them and half have been the royal rota saying that Charles needs to agree to a half-in deal for Harry (Just Harry. He's apparently supposed to leave his wife and kids in California to come and serve Charles). Ridiculous.
Comparing Harry and Meghan to Nazi sympathizers. Come on.
The bullying allegations are about what we've heard before. I don't think Meghan was probably the easiest person to deal with but then neither were the courtiers. I do side-eye it all a bit when William is portrayed as the white knight. We've heard about his personality and the slant to all these accounts is not subtle. The reason I take everything with a grain of salt is because the stories are constantly changing. Like the story about what happened in Balmoral has morphed to make Charles the good guy and Harry the bad. Who knows what is true?
