Exactly. Plus it must be shit knowing people are going to analyse your every reaction/facial expression in a situation like this.

You know who else was at the funeral? This bitch. All the news services, in addition to the Daily Mail, slyly point out that Kate and William's friend, Rose Cholmondeley, was there. (I saw her on footage of people coming into the Abbey, but pretty sure this is a picture from Prince Phillip's memorial.)

Not going to lie - this makes me feel for Kate. And yeah, yeah, maybe she knew what she was getting into, but nobody likes salt on their wounds, and I'm pretty sure nobody can really understand what they're getting into by marrying this family. I'm pretty sure this is not the marriage Kate was going for - and William couldn't even have been bothered to have his 'fling' with someone not already in their set of friends. 

Also - that sprout George looks like a bully.

Charlotte I'm still in love with - she's not only adorable, she has that 'certain something' that elevates and attracts. Quality - and an old soul.

eta: Kate looks gorgeous. Her husband was Lord Great Chamberlain to the QEII's court so she's going to be there. This is probably his last act as the new one has already been appointed.

Blaming Rose when she's been brought up & lives in an environment that is super-structured and everything revolves around the royals from a very young age (why do you think that grown men have tantrums? No-one has ever told them it's unacceptable); she could have been in a position not to say no. Not saying it was rape but it's an imbalance of power - everyone in the scenario has power except her 🤷‍♀️
It used to be that the husband would encourage it to "curry favour" from the crown. I'd like to think that we have moved on from that but....

Marquess of Cholmondeley has been replaced as Lord Great Chamberlain.

He has lost the role because of the tradition that it changes to another aristocratic family on the death of the monarch and was always be set to depart from the role upon the death of Her Majesty

The Marquess, also known as film-maker David Rocksavage, had the role, in which he had to walk backwards in front of the monarch at the State Opening of Parliament, as long as the Queen was on the throne.

Now we have King Charles III, his job will be taken by the 7th Lord Carrington, whose late father served as Foreign Secretary under Margaret Thatcher.

His last duty.

ok. i know pearls are a thing at funerals but i do think the size of kathy's necklace is kinda tacky.

i don't love the diamond clasp on it but i'm kind of loving that kate is bringing out the big guns. it's a queen's funeral, i think it's the perfect occasion. her own jewelry collection (except for the pieces handed down from diana) is generic and kind of timid and she has too many lame matchy-matchy sets, i like seeing her with more dramatic make up and bigger jewelry. i hope she keeps it up now that she's moved up to princess of wales.

they may be wearing black but nothing about this funeral is discreet. pomp and circumstance at its finest and most British. and every piece of bling she's worn has been the queen's and chosen very intentionally for the occasion. i think kate wore that same pearl necklace to philipp's funeral. 
the symbolism is kind of fascinating. and the origins of the different pieces.

Okay, Nov - please help me out here, because this is way above my British aristocracy pay-grade. You seriously think she could have felt pressured to have sex with the lump of pasty coal now known as the Prince of Wales? I'm not necessarily arguing with you about it, it just seems incomprehensible that an attitude like that could prevail in the Great Britain of 2022.

And while I'm on the weirdness of this Royal Group of Grifters, I have a question that has been bothering me for a while, but it's a very difficult and delicate question: When it comes to the conversation Meghan and Harry referenced about Archie's skin color, is there any way the speaker was just wondering and not disdaining what skin tone Archie might have? You know, like if you wonder if someone will have Mom's blue eyes and freckles, or Dad's brown eyes and heavy eyebrows, or maybe incorporate both and have hazel eyes with freckles, etc. Or, "Gee, Susie really has her father's nose and a widow's peak just like her grandmother." 

Anyone have more in-depth understanding to share? Again, I'm not suggesting and certainly not excusing, I'm just asking.
