I'm kinda stunned at how quickly this all imploded over there.
No American GOP member would ever resign. Not even pressured by their own party. Shit, they will just try to overthrow the govt.

You're fucking right. Also I got my gas bill this week. My gas unit charges have gone from 6p per unit to 45p per unit. Yes FOURTYFIVE p per unit SEVEN times more expensive. I also got my pay "rise" and it's not enough to pay for the rise in heating costs alone. Not including any other price rises Inc my electric bill. At this rate it's going to be cheaper to pay £1.80/litre* & drive into the office than heat my home. Quick & Dirty calculation - $7.63/ US Gallon Our landlord insists on prepayment meters in all of his properties so you can imagine how much fun we're having. I've already changed how I cook - if it takes 40 minutes or more in the oven it's off the bloody menu.

What are arsehole - but I guess he's be burnt in the past.
When I rented out my house I was told that the tenants had the "right" to have the meter changed. It was 20 years ago & i don't know if you need landlord permission now, but....
Also gas or electric cooker? I persuaded my parents (well my mum really) to get me an instatpot for my birthday but I'd been looking at electric pressure cookers in discount/eBay new shops & the were really quite cheap (considering the cost of fuel!!!) Electric pressure cookers take less time to cook.

With gas prices being so bad, it might be wise to get an air fryer as well. You can do anything in one that you can do in the oven (unless its something really large). My air fryer can rotisserie a whole chicken. The one I have is also made by Instant Pot.

^^^^^ greysfangHey, Greys, I've got two of those air-fryers and don't use anything else. They're clean and really convenient for the two of us. I hardly use the 'real' cooker.

The cooker is gas and we're trying to keep that down as well. My mum got an airfryer earlier in the week and I'm going to ask how she's doing with it when I next call. We don't generally eat a lot of fried food but we might need the extra calories to keep warm lol.

I seem to be under the impression that air-"fryer" is a bit of a misnoma? They circulate hot air to cook food more quickly - not sure it needs to be "fried" don't people put pies in there + stuff? Like the equivalent to a small over but faster?

An air fryer is really a small convection oven. It has a heating element and a fan to circulate the hot air. It's called an air "fryer" because the circulation of the heated air can make foods crispy without submerging in oil. It's actually pretty versatile, and you can cook a lot of things in it.

Johnson has pulled out of the leadership contest because despite his sycophants claiming he had more than enough votes to return he actually had bugger all. He even tried to convince Penny Mordaunt to drop out and hand her supporters to him, but she refused and said that they'd likely back Rishi Sunak if she left. This is on top of the rumours that he'd tried to convince Sunak to settle a power sharing deal with him.
So it looks like we're probably going to end up with Sunak as our latest unelected PM. We're still fucked either way but it's mildly entertaining to watch a swathe of Tory voters clutching their pearls at the thought of a brown fellow being in charge.

All I know is he's super rich (former banker) and his wife is the daughter of a billionaire. He has only been an MP for 7 years. He voted for Brexit.
