Late edit to add: I played along with the spiel and mentioned that I had a friend who worked in in-home based care. They immediately suggested that I could sign them up for the service, convince them to join as a "partner" and then they could convince the clients they care for to sign for the service too! Everyone wins! Yay! Shady as shit.  |

Rave - Mrs Mo came back yesterday. The kids and I picked her up at Dulles Airport. And then we packed for the beach last night and today. Basically everything is ready, but our son's gf is at a graduation ceremony for a friend and we are picking her up there as soon as it's done and hitting the road with her (we already have her packed luggage and violin)
Rant/Rave - our daughter just got her animation project done today. Deadline was Friday. I was actually so concerned that I was going to drive up to the beach with everyone else, then drive back to pick her up, and then drive back to the beach again. Which would have been about 9 hours of driving. Luckily, she just finished and submitted it. The problem is the time the computer needs for rendering the video.
Rave - Mrs Mo looks awesome. I can't wait to go out and get coffee with her at the shops in the mornings while we are down there. It's definitely the only alone time we are going to have, LOL. (My brother will be down there with his wife and 4 daughters and it's almost like I'm the dad when that happens - the only adult willing to go on crazy spinning, flipping rides with them, and hang out late also.)

I've spent the last two days looking at code & talking to developers to find out what the issue was (I'm not a coder but I am a problem solver & currently the defect QUEEN!).
I had a meeting with the Ops team we service & they basically told me "it doesn't work like that" well, it fucking does and sent them the code to prove it. They soon changed their tune & started whining about *why* does it work like that. I know but I wasn't going to waste my breathe. I told them how to fix it & one of them wanted us to wait while he shared his screen & pratted around.
I don't have time for that shit. Pull up your big girl panties & just do it.
And people wonder why I would choose the bear every.single.time.
And I now have a week off! Yay!!!!

Rant & Rave - my boss quit. I always said I will leave if she leaves. She's seriously the best, she's my mentor. Good thing though, she's staying in the company, but in another position and only two or three days a week, so no executive position anymore. They will re-structure the company now; that's what I love about my workplace as they try to fill all positions internally. I got the job offered last week, together with another one that has the same position as me now. We will take over some of her responsibilities and will get a promotion.
It's a huge opportunity for me, and I am thrilled to have been chosen for it. However, it will also mean a lot of changes, and I am torn between excitement and concerns. I also can't talk to anyone about it until it's finalised. Additionally, I had to reduce my current team by two people and reassign them to another team, which breaks my heart a little. I chose the perfect team for them and they will have lots of possibilites to grow there, but still. I hired and developed them.
It will be torture for me until everything will be communicated next week.
