It's so good IMO, though my biggest gripe about it is they should have kept Claire Foy for the third season.

I like The Crown. I'm really excited for the dramatization of the War of the Wale's in Season 5. Such a nice gift for the new King.

and you know they'll get shit if they accept the titles and shit if they decline them too. In the Oprah interview, Mehan implied that it was racism behind Archie’s lack of title at birth. Which everyone ignorant to how it works lapped up. Will she ever make a statement that she misunderstood at the time how it all works and it had nothing to do with Archies skin colour? The Prince and Princess title now come into effect.. I think she should accept the titles for her children, as it is their birth right, and leave it to her children to decide later. Eitherway, it’s hard to say how she will react because at times she seems hurt that they didnt have titles at birth and sometimes she says titles arent important.

Then it still remains that somebody of the royal family made the remark about how dark Archie's skin color would be "in jest". Or was that fabrication, too, perhaps by the hands of the racist tabloids?

I get it - she is getting harder to defend but to reply to your deflection: The comments on Archie’s skin was not put out there by the tabloids. We only learnt of this from Meghan who heard it from Harry. Not much detail to go on and unclear of any context or even who said it.

I don't agree nor disagree: I just don't know what to believe anymore. The whole atmosphere is so against Harry and MM. As I mentioned before in another post: even the usually neutral BBC had some suggestive remarks, which is quite unusual. And the type of people who react in the comments on tabloid articles are almost without exception quite racist. So by now it's almost a "which came first? the chicken or the egg?" type of situation.

I do think Meghan misunderstood but I also think there may have been a conversation where Charles said that when he became King he wanted to do whatever is done to make it so Archie and any other kids didn't have a title, probably a conversation between Harry and Charles which was later relayed to Meghan. I don't think racism would have been his reason but his wish for a pared down monarchy. But after all the attacks from the tabloids, Meghan may have just seen racism.

Eitherway, it’s hard to say how she will react because at times she seems hurt that they didnt have titles at birth and sometimes she says titles arent important. I think what’s she said is that they might change the rule (the rule being that the grandchild of a monarch is automatically a prince or princess, which in Archie’s case wouldn’t be at birth but rather when the queen dies and Charles becomes king) because of his skin colour. I don’t think she misunderstood anything. She may not have explained it clearly or maybe she didn’t want to go into detail about how it would only go into effect once the queen croaked but I think her intention (and Harry’s, because people always like to pretend she acts alone and he has no say and just goes along) was to make sure when the time came that Charles wouldn’t change the rule for their children. Which he could do. Because it’s always been claimed that he favours a slimmed down monarchy which basically means that the only ones with prince and princess titles would be the monarch and their children, and it would stop at the heir’s children and wouldn’t include all the grandkids. So I think they said it to guarantee this wouldn’t happen for their kids and they used the racism the RF expressed re: Archie’s skin colour against them. Whether racism would have been the reason for the rule change or just a desire for a slimmed down monarchy, doesn’t matter anymore once the racist cat was let out of the bag and given the treatment Meghan received from the RF, the British media and a good chunk of the public. The fact is, it would have been a bad look to change the rule for the first biracial grandkid. Looking back at it now it was a smart preemptive move lol which will only make people hate meghan more. And I think the titles are important to them (and probably moreso to harry though of course everyone will assume it’s all Meghan), in the sense that no parent anywhere wants their kids to lose something their cousins have and to be treated differently all of a sudden when certain rules have always applied.
