Ok, if this doesn't make you misty, you have a heart of coal. I started to ugly cry. It's crazy, but it is what it is and she will be missed. What a life she lived.

Ok, if this doesn't make you misty, you have a heart of coal. Ah. Fuck you Trixie. I was fine until you did that. It's not really sunk in here, republican (IE not royalist not US Republican) family but it's still shocking.

I would expect that arrangements will already have been in place in the event of this happening so they'll probably go to family members or close retainers. I just don't have a lot of faith in her family. I really hope they go to someone that will love them and care for them. All of them have dogs already. Princess Anne has English Bull Terriers, the King (I had to think before typing that!) and Queen Consort have Jack Russells, William and Kate have spaniels, Harry and Meghan have a Labrador and beagles, Andrew has Norfolk Terriers and Prince Edward and his wife Sophie have a Labrador and a spaniel (and a tortoise, apparently). I'm sure that the Queen's dogs will be fine. (I'm not a Royal dog expert, I Googled it for you).

I still hate the fact that the sidepiece won. Oddly, I don't - she makes Charles a better man, I think, and, well, Diana doesn't care anymore either. Yeah, what they did was awful but what was done to them was awful too. And it's been a couple years.

Recently they have started encouraging their friends to bring their dogs when they visit. ETA - just came across this - check out the expression on the corgi

I remember feeling so sad for her when her last corgi passed and she said she wouldn't be getting another one.
Obviously she was quite active and coherent in her old age which was great but I hate the thought of anyone (or myself) having to give up things you enjoy in life just because you're essentially waiting to die.
Depressing.

Ok, if this doesn't make you misty, you have a heart of coal. I guess you'd better start calling me Coal-Heart. I sent my sister a text: "Widow of racist old codger/cousin, dies". She replied "We are not amused".

I thought she’d definitely make 100. I can just see the DM trying to twist this as being MM’s fault “because of all the stress she caused”. I've already seen a tweet that said nearly exactly that. The hate for MM is ridiculous.

I still hate the fact that the sidepiece won. Ehh, they've been married longer than Charles and Diana were and by all accounts seem to be happy with each other. The royal institution should have let Charles and Camilla marry in the first place.

Saw an appropriate Facebook meme: "73-Year-Old Man Finally Gets Job". He just did a walkabout and shook hands (yes, those red, swollen, sausage fingered hands) with the public, looking rather cheerful (maybe the little voice inside his head is going "Yes!!!! My turn, finally!!!!").

Yesterday, I wondered if the British tabloids could put aside their obsession with H and M for even one day to honor the Queen. Nope.

King Charles III and his Queen Consort Camilla were greeted by thousands of well-wishers gathered outside Buckingham Palace today as he met his subjects for the first time as monarch. Huge crowds cheered the couple as they arrived at the palace before a visibly emotional King left his state Bentley and began shaking hands with countless members of the public amid shouts of 'God Save the King'. In moving scenes less than 24 hours after the Queen's death, an impromptu rendition of the National Anthem broke out as the Royal Standard was raised above Buckingham Palace for the first time of his reign. Onlookers shouted three cheers for Charles while one woman kissed him on the cheek, as others held up their phones to try and get a glimpse of him as he passed. The Queen Consort followed behind at a distance, before joining the King at his side to view the floral tributes left outside the gates. As a bugler sounded, the couple - both dressed in black - walked side by side through the main entrance of Buckingham Palace. www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-11197283/King-Charles-III-Queen-Consort-Camilla-buckingham-palace.html
