Very nice statement from the King. Weird - I just had to type that out and it still feels a bit unreal. My respect and enjoyment of the British monarchy took a hit since all the racist crap against Meghan, but the Queen still was a constant and a bit of a monument to duty and care and still had a soft spot for her. She's been Queen my whole life.

I thought she’d definitely make 100.  I can just see the DM trying to twist this as being MM’s fault “because of all the stress she caused”. Already started. Comments on Kate staying in London have been set to Moderated. Comments on Meghan staying in London are currently Unmoderated. Yeah, I'm guessing she's already passed. The British tabloids are so obsessed with Meghan and Harry, I wonder how long they will actually focus on the Queen before they go back to picking apart everything M and H do or don't do. A day? Two? The commentators didn't even wait until she was confirmed as having passed away. They are building up a nice froth already about how Harry shouldn't have dared travel to set foot in the UK, nevermind Balmoral, and that this is Meghan's fault. |
