I really wish I had a better memory. I went from APS to Gossip Rocks, and I was also on Saving Face. I was even a moderator on SF and got a lot of the background dirt about everyone. I just have swiss cheese brain. I only remember bits and pieces of things. I do remember SVZ reaching out to me to leave SF for good because he wanted me to exclusively post celebrity pictures on GR. I was a major picture poster back in the mid 2000's.

I too have been a moderator on 2 different forums. I must state that while I enjoyed it, having to remain neutral and disciplined used to raise my blood pressure. lol |

Were you a mod on gossip forums or a different topic? I only did gossip, which I'm sure has to be easier than something like politics board. But most gossip forums are a lot of women. Which can be wonderful, because women can be more sensitive and caring about other people's feelings, or they can be stupidly bitchy like high school cliques.

I was a mod for on a geopolitical site and also on a technical site. None of those were Proboards. What I enjoyed were all the PM's, what I didn't enjoy was having to track down spammers and scammers.
I was *VERY* lenient but I had what I called a BULLSHIT line. I would try to warn the member in a non insulting and respectful way. But if that failed and the member continued, then it became too much trouble..i.e. bullshit. On one site we had time limitations on bans which I prefer over the nuclear option of a permanent ban.

yes, permanent bans are too....well, permanent. And back when I was a mod I swear there wasn't as many bots as there are nowadays.

i joined GR in 2011 after lurking for years. i figured i'd actually post on the regular if i registered, but alas and alack that was not the case. i post on the highly irregular, instead. thanks to greysfang and all who made this new site possible.
