I was on APS. I think I initially went there for the bad plastic surgery pics and stayed for the board discussions, which were so much fun. I remember Disruptive Hair and her fellow Texan, Reinabikipatra or something. Didn’t they fight with everyone on the board? I think I fought with them too but I can’t remember why lol. I’d just had my twins and would take breaks so I don’t know what happened to APS, only that it was suddenly overrun with trolls and then people started leaving the board.
Didn’t someone create another gossip board shortly after that (not Gossip Rocks)? I joined GR in 2005 and have been lurking on and off since then.

i was on APS. i remember AGFH, sput (tout), manx, grim, and that crazy guy who claimed to be a chivalrous millionaire and all the women believed him. chauncey? anyway, it was pretty obvious it was just a sham and he was some kind of incel but a lot of the posters believed him and he started a lot of infighting. one poster (momof4) actually thought chauncey was going to get her unemployed husband a gig and was particularly upset when his identity was revealed. disruptive hair was on the spectrum and eventually thrown off of GR. and then lolijume. another nutbag. and the one who cautiously embraced jeggings, citizen of the world. there's probably more. this. omg you have such a good memory. i remember it all now that i'm reading about it but i never would have remembered anyone's names, and most of the drama. my memory sucks so bad for drama. GR since 2005. Wow. The SF days were wild. That was in the 90's! Does anyone remember when someone took a trip to meet up with another member and the whole thing was filled with drama? Accusing each other of an eating disorder and alcoholism? yes!! oh my god that was so awkward. |

I remember when GR played host to a bunch of SF'ers for a couple weeks when their site was down (if I'm remembering this right, it was not long after this that SF imploded an went byebye) and his typical shit (and that of several others) didn't fly over at GR.
Technically I was still straddling both boards at this time, but in reality had pretty much defected to the dark side (aka GR). It was most amusing.

the infighting bummed me out. i never got involved with the chonesy crap but i was friends with one of the women who met up and they accused the other of alcoholism/ED. it was so ugly.
then there was the woman who ran the board and was bitter about some chick who beat her out for a part in a local community theater prod. she posted a pic of the chick (who had no connex to SF) and started to critique her looks. mean and completely depressing. and sput, you were short term mod of a board that whatsherface from AUS started? then that board died.
