i started the 5th (and last) season of 'search party' last night. it's soooo good again. I didn't really enjoy the 4th season that just seemed to drag on forever but this season is a return to form so far. and jeff goldblum is the best guest star ever. Anyone watching Pam & Tommy on Hulu? Was not expecting a talking penis. i watched one episode and thought it was fun and lily james is amazing in the role, but it didn't hook me in. i might give it another go though, i didn't make it to the talking penis.

We've been watching a show I read about on reddit, it's a Norwegian police procedural featuring time travel called Beforeigners. Pretty good.

I just watched Pam & Tommy. I liked it. Tommy Lee talking to his penis and his penis talking back was unexpected. But funny. I think there are 4 more episodes that will air weekly.

Just started Reacher and the casting is so much better than Teeny Tom in the lead. Alan Ritchson is tall, muscular and looks like a Marine. Regardless of how the series goes, it's already better than the movies.

i finished the last season of 'search party' and it is batshit fucking insane, and even that is an understatement. the previous seasons had each kind of parodied specific TV genres and tropes, from true crime to law and order type courtroom dramas to true crime torture porn with white women held hostage by psychopaths with secret basements. with the last season they took on everything from wellness to influencer culture and so much more that i don't want to give away. and the guest stars... everyone from jeff goldblum to john waters to trudy styler. so good.

During the Covid epoch I've been watching alot of Kdrama/khorror, which I love:
The Silent Sea Vincenzo Sweet Home Squid Game Kingdom/Ashin of the North
All of us are Dead Man from Nowhere My Name Train to Busan/Pennisula/Seoul Station Bulgasal Voice Hellbound
Some cyberpunk Anime: Mostly the Godzilla trilogy and Singular Point
Lastly, a number of Mount Everest documentaries.
Loved "My Name". I wanted it to be longer. I'm 1/2 way through Vincenzo, I took a little break and can't get back into it. All of us are Dead is next on my list. I'm deep into Kdramas, I don't know how it happened.

I'm deep into Kdramas, I don't know how it happened. I just re-watched 'My Name' last night. Hoping for more seasons. I really like Han So Hee, I could see her as a break out action star.
I enjoyed Vincenzo alot. Kind of reminded me of 'Local Hero' + 'Northern Exposure' + a Joseon (comedy) period piece (a la The Grand Heist).
'All of Us are Dead', don't want to spoil it (and since it seems to have been mentioned in many reviews already) but series has an interesting twist on a zombie hybrid which should ensure a couple more seasons of programming, hopefully.
As for what got me into Kdramas, imma hafta blame Lee Jin Wook, lol

I'm also in the middle of Inventing Anna - it's an interesting story and I love Julia Garner but I'm so sick of Veda Sultenfuss' overdramatics about her pregnancy I might stop watching.

i finished inventing anna last night. it took a while to really take off, the whole first half of the series was weirdly kind of boring despite the fact that it's not a boring story at all, but then it finally starts to get more interesting and the pacing improves in the second half. as for vivian/veda sultenfuss... i love anna chlumsky and i think she did her best with a character that most other actresses would have made insufferable. by the end of the series i had definitely warmed up to her but it was more due to chlumsky's performance than the writing. i also loved anna's lawyer.

i think inventing anna was well done. even the wardrobe. more thought went into the clothes compared with AJLT.
i want to know what is fake and what is real. i mean, i know the basic story but i want more deets.
