I know, I don't know how to do it either! I really gave it an effort though, lol
It's a beautiful piece of property for sure, the home has bits that I like but I don't LOVE it.
My biggest complaint with this article is anyone who thinks 50 miles north of NYC is upstate NY, but I won't get on that soapbox here...

Thanks for trying. Pasting didn't work for me in the Old GR way.

Me either. This is going to take some getting used to. If anybody figures it out I hope they share the trick.

That is one giant, ugly house. I always wonder if it's even possible to feel at home as a tiny human in all that space, with all the staff you need to keep it clean running around you.
The kitchen is nice, though.

it's too big but it's nice as far as mansions go. you can tell at least parts of the house are old and have the original floors, details, etc. the property is gorgeous too. but yeah, it's too big, too much.

Who would have guessed Richard Gere would have a $28m home?
It looks like one of those houses/estates used for a 90s drama/thriller film involving a well to do couple living in New England who get involved in some kind of weird infidelity thing with another couple(s) causing one or more of them to lose the plot and boil a rabbit on a stove, throw someone off an upstairs balcony into a greenhouse or drown them in a nearby lake.

Lovely view and it's too fucking big. The problem I have with giant mansions is that there are 25 different rooms where I can go to sit. I don't need that many rooms to just sit my ass down. A couple will do, plus a great master suite and a nice back yard. And, if you're a hotshot movie actor, I guess you gotta buy this kind of stuff.

I get that it was probably staged to sell, but I didn't see a lot of soft, comfortable places to sit and relax. Even on the patio - some cushions and maybe an outdoor bar/bbq would make it feel like you could live there.

I've seen better looking grand houses and I would sure go farther upstate from NYC than 50 miles! It's too big and as said, how many places does one need to choose where to sit down?

It's too big and as said, how many places does one need to choose where to sit down? 50 miles out of NYC is a different world. Pound Ridge, where the house is located, is very rural feel like town for a short commute into the city. It's not uncommon for Manhattan employees to live less than 50 miles from the city in NY and Conneticut. It's about an hour or so ride into the city by Metro North train. It's an ideal commute and an affordable town for many solidly upper middle class folks (Median is $190k- solidly middle class for NYC) and offers spacious homes and lots for the rich- Christopher Reeves, Vera Wang, Ryan Reynolds, and Susan Surandon are some of the celebs that live there (at least part time). .
