I want that kitchen window, REAL BAD. And that nice bricked patio. All the wood flooring and built-ins are beautiful, especially the dining room.
But I hate the master bathroom. Points for that tub, just don't like that style shower, reminds me of a cage. And one huge sink in a master? Nope. The rest of the bedrooms aren't special, the sloped ceilings from the dormers would make me claustrophobic.
But if I were willing to live in Atlanta, I would totally buy this for that custom kitchen window alone. It reminds me of the place where I got married, it had a window like that. Anyone of you architecture nerds know what that style window is called? I want to say Gothic but I don't know why.

oooh that's gorgeous and i can't get over the price and what this house would cost in DC.
i love the idea of a blue kitchen. if i were being picky i would probably push the cabinets up to the ceiling and do different doors and hardware, make the look like massive built in cabinets like a lot of old houses have, and nix the moulding at the top of the cabinets, that's a pet peeve of mine.
totally agree about the bathroom. for the most part, the house has been really thoughtfully redone and it retains a lot of original features but they really fucked up the bathroom. it looks like they threw every single HGTV trend at it, including a fucking farmhouse kitchen sink (why??). i don't even want to think about what kind of amazing vintage tile was probably in there before this. it's a great size bathroom though and with those windows you could do something amazing in there, starting with a different vanity and mirror, shower and better and more interesting tiles on both the floor and walls. i'd probably redo the entire bathroom layout.

Yeah somehow I don't quite believe 750k for a house that big and renovated. Is it haunted? In or next to a high crime area? The page I got it from was dated March 2022 so it wasn't outdated.

I like the idea of a blue kitchen too, almost went with that when we renovated ours but I ended up going with cherry shaker cabinets and I'm still happy with them. I was watching this hgtv show, Rock the Block, and one of the teams were dinged for doing a blue kitchen (risky because potential buyers might not like it) and I thought geez not EVERYONE wants a sterile white kitchen, I mean they're fine but not in every damn house. I also don't understand why they wouldn't just take the cabinets to the ceiling, what a waste of space. My old kitchen had soffits like all the houses did back then and I couldn't wait to get rid of them. Had to move some HVAC vents but so worth it.
I also don't like the farmhouse sinks much, people seem to rave about them (on hgtv anyway) but to put one in a contemporary bathroom like that, why? If you're gonna go farmhouse, go farmhouse. Put up those sliding barn doors if you want, too. Not my thing.
Overall, a nice house but I'd want to know more about the neighborhood before commenting on the price. One thing I don't think I've ever seen is a powder room that's accessible from the outdoors. Seems like something you might see in a beach house, like the outdoor shower.

We have a blue kitchen. Kinda ran through the kitchen studio and didn't find anything even remotely attractive to us, until we came around the corner and both stood there like "that's ours". Since we live in a rented flat, our friends called us crazy to shell out over 10.000 Euros for a kitchen, but we just had to. It was finally installed in January and we are really happy with it, the color is "aqua" and it turned our small kitchen into a happy place.

it didn't used to be a great hood but maybe things have changed. atlanta housing is not as expensive as some other markets.
i have a white kitchen and i am ok with it. the only color is the red knobs on the range. which mr czb hated at first but now is ok with.
as for farmhouse sinks, i don't like the looks but they are probably very durable. we have a YUGE stainless steel - sink it is bigger than a double and pretty deep. i love it. but the marble around it has suffered from the kids/mr czb and has a lot of nicks. i think if we had a farmhouse sink that wouldn't be the case.

i meant i love the idea of the blue kitchen in the atlanta house, because i have a blue kitchen too at my current place. i loved it but you guys know from my comments on the design threads that i like bright colours used sparingly lol and i admit i was a little worried i'd get tired of it but it's been two years and i still love it, and blue kitchens in general. and dark green ones too. mine's ikea and probably 15 years old but in really good shape. the cabinets doors look almost lacquered and they're just smooth doors with no hardware/handles. and the bottom units are all drawers (so much better) except for the under the sink cabinet which has doors. the countertops are butcher block. it's very clean and bright and scandi modern looking, I can't complain. Except I also wish the cabinets went up to the ceiling because that's just dead space catching dust and if you use it to store stuff it looks cluttered. It's just lazy cheap cost saving measures.
and trixie, i watched that show too. it's one of many HGTV shows i like to hate watch. HGTV is the worst for design. they only care about design from a real estate/selling houses point of view, not whether something is actually good design. they just push the latest trends and every single house looks the same. suburban hell lol

I think white kitchens are fine, it's just all you see on hgtv. I'm actually trying to talk a friend of mine into going white, but it fits her house, just not mine. I think the "new" white appliances are gorgeous which is weird because I never liked white appliances. I went stainless against my better judgment because I didn't think anything else would work, but they are (not surprisingly) a pain in the ass to keep clean and never stay clean in my world so I just give up at times. I have a stainless butterfly sink, true corner sink which some people don't like either but I always wanted one. I don't think people like my recycled glass countertops either, but I don't decorate for other people.

^^^ i love white. i just hate the generic-ness of every house on hgtv. and approaching home design like fast fashion instead of thoughtful, sustainable design.

^ Well, at least they are ending Flip or Flop so we don't have to see Christina's identical gray/white design in every freaking kitchen/bathroom. I swear I've seen the same starburst tile on all the shows like it's something unique. Ummm not anymore.
Re Rock the Block, well at least that bitch Alison Victoria wasn't on this year, she has caused so much trouble in Chicago with her houses, just go away. Dave and Jenny, not everyone has 5 little kids they are designing for. The twins, didn't annoy me so much on their own show, but this one, stop with the cutesy shit. I actually like the Detroit boys but of course, out of their league here but I like their show--even with the out-there designs at times, they are doing good things to bring affordable housing and improving neighborhoods instead of high priced flips the majority could never afford. If I lived on one of their blocks I would be ecstatic they were taking the boarded down house next door and making it livable for someone. The couple who won, I don't think I've ever seen their show. No idea what it's called.

No idea what it's called. christina and tarek are too much for me. i just can't. she's insufferable. he's a fucking idiot baby man. and i hate alison victoria too!!!! she is the worst and her kitchens are fucking tacky. no one wants a kitchen hood that looks like the roof of a trump version of versailles. fuck off with that shit. and i'm so not surprised she might turn out to be a huge scammer. i don't think i know dave and jenny but HGTV needs less evangelical flippers with 14 kids and more nate and jeremiah. i wish those two hosted everything, even though they can also be super cheesy. especially that dumb wedding show jeremiah did. i also like the fords. eta: i googled and yes, i know dave and jenny, i just suck at remembering names. they're probably the ones i like best out of all the evangelical flippers and they seem like nice people but still. enough. i want more shows about people in cities and less about prefab suburban mcmansions.

Oh I think Alison Victoria is a def scammer, so many articles in Chicago papers about buyers suing her, lawsuits between her and her show partner, stop orders and permits pulled, neighbors complaining...yet she and her ombre hair get a second season of her sham show and 2 seasons on Rock the Block. I guess the Hometown couple are the new Chip and Jo, and I liked them but they are in danger of overstaying their welcome with all their outside ventures, furnishing line, People Mag covers etc. No real hgtv stars anymore like the old days, just cookie cutters. Are the Fords even on anymore? I don't think I've seen her Diane Keaton ass since she was on one of the Rock the Block seasons. Yep, no real stand outs but I keep watching. There's always Love it or List it lol. I refuse to watch House Hunters because I know it's all fake.
