I went camping & have some photos to share with you. With this board being as it is, I'll probably have to add them one at a time so bear with me.... Gallos at Tintagel

Thank you. It was great Sarzy - that house (interior shots) was the house on St Michael Mount. Taken with my Sony Xperia III camera too! On a "basic" setting. Very happy with how that has turned out
I bought a bigger tent today - off someone on eBay who appears to have been camping once (so bargain tent bundle for £40 when the tent alone would be £400!). I needed somewhere to sit when it rains coz ... British weather!

Love the photos, great shots Nov! Love those intricate details on the furniture, and the woodwork in the St. Michael's Mount house. I agree about the quilt, gorgeous.
I'm glad you got a vacation, too.

Is that sun? In the UK? Did you cut a deal with some weather witches?
I’d love to visit. That looks beautiful.

It was 28C-32C driving down, then rained for 2 days (hence the bigger tent) then it was great for the rest of my time down there. Was high 20Cs on my way home (my phone over heated & decided it wanted to take me home via Lincoln!!!) and is fairly nice now. I have a trip to the Cotswolds early September (to go to a Kaffe Fassett talk). on the way home to meet a friend .... 5 hours later ... It was such a sanctuary - there is a tale about James (Jesus's brother) & Mary Magdalene going there in 70-something AD. My friend is an archaeologist & was telling me about the Roman-Britain-Israeli political scene then. Really brought it to life.

Oooh! I'm seriously jealous! It's probably about the same number of years since we got a holiday (not since the excursion to Wales with the in-laws) and we'd love to get away again but there's nobody nearby that I would trust to come in and see to my kitties. I'm hoping perhaps we can manage an overnight somewhere (the cats shouldn't be able to destroy too much in 24 hours...) and have been thinking about revisiting Yorkshire. I'd like to go to How Stean Gorge/Tom Taylors caverns again or do the trail along The Strid by Bolton Abbey. However as someone would probably collapse if I tried to make him to the full trek I might have to rethink it and settle for a day out at Thackray Medical Museum instead lol. Is there anywhere else you'd suggest? (some links for anyone who is curious). www.daleswalks.co.uk/walks/how_stean_gorge_middlesmoor_and_nidderdale/myyorkshiredales.co.uk/walks/bolton-abbey-and-the-strid/

I’ve wanted to go to Tintagel for years, this looks awesome! I remember how my partner felt after finally taking a week off after 2 years, I can’t imagine how it must have felt after 7 freakin years!!! You so deserved that break! And it seems like it was wonderful, gorgeous weather and gorgeous locations

This is my kind of vacation! I love this so much. I planned to go to the UK before the pandemic and now when I one day get the chance I think I want to stay as long as they'll let me over there. Cornwall is on my top 5 places I need to see.
So is Cornwall the only place where palms grow in England?
I'm glad you were finally able to get away and relax!

No there are palm trees / tree ferns all over the place.
