Of course Musk can just delete or ban this guy, which I wouldn't put past him. He's right up there with Trump when it comes to fucking over contractors. I doubt this will shame him at all, but I hope he loses big in the lawsuit.

And of course twitter is a cluster fuck, what else would you expect when this idiot comes in and slashes employee numbers from 7500 to 2000? (or so I've read)

Yes.  Halli took a job so he could pay something like a 46 percent tax rate on an income instead of 20-something percent that he would have paid on a lump sum.  It was his way of giving back to the Icelandic social system that had helped him while he was growing up.  It was in his contract that if Twitter sacked him they became liable for the entire sale price of his business in one big lump sum.

On top of that, there's also the things that Musk said in relation to his disability in general and suggesting that he was sacked because of it.  That's got to be a few disability discrimination, employee medical data protection and employment law violations right there.

So tomorrow, the verified blue checkmark ends and its now all play for pay. Almost every major news outlet announced they would not be paying yesterday and now a lot of major sports stars are saying the same thing today like Lebron and Mahomes. Methinks Elon is now in the "find out" stage.

I do. Only started maybe a few topics. There are a handful of people I follow and like, so I engage with them but that's about it. It's not like I ever trolled for followers and I don't have any "famous" followers except one or two semi-famous I guess, and I don't think they're even blue check. I might look over there a couple times a week but sometimes not for weeks. Kinda the same with FB. I have to be in the mood.

I have had a twitter account since almost the beginning of Twitter. I remember getting sent a link to "this new medium" by a friend of mine and after a couple of tweets we were like: "So this is all there is?" And went right back to everything else we were using instead. 

Even reading what other people have tweeted is more fun when it's been posted elsewhere than actually going to Twitter for it, which was easy to do once Twitter got really huge. Even though I didn't use it much personally it seemed like a pretty valuable medium.

If it had to go under, what better way to prove a point than having this idiot destroy it. It just sucks for all the employees.

I still have an account, but have barely been on since Elon bought it. The rise in far right propaganda and racist and anti LGBT BS is really showing.
I'm also sure a lot of media outlets will eventually buy the blue mark ... if one starts, the rest will follow, sadly

I still have an account that I hadn't gone to in ages until yesterday. WTF??? One post after another with all this fascist bullshit. It is so bad - and doesn't feel at all like the same medium.

Yeah it's really bad, right? All those left wing media and journalists that were ban, whilst at the same time far right extremists were unbanned ... I basically unfollowed every thing political, I just follow medievalists. It's a relatively safe crowd.
