Bill Murray allegedly ‘handsy’ with women on Aziz Ansari film set

Bill Murray was allegedly “touchy” with the women on set of “Being Mortal,” before the shoot was shut down, a source exclusively tells The Post.

Filming of the 71-year-old “Saturday Night Live” legend’s movie was suspended last week after a complaint was reportedly filed specifically against the actor, alleging “inappropriate behavior.”

By Thursday, the film was suspended indefinitely amid an investigation into the “Ghostbusters” star’s on-set actions.

A source told Page Six, “He was very hands-on touchy, not in any personal areas, but put an arm around a woman, touched her hair, pulled her ponytail — but always in a comedic way.


“It is a fine line and everybody loves Bill, but while his conduct is not illegal, some women felt uncomfortable and he crossed a line.”

A separate source says that Murray, who is apparently single, “Loves women and loves to flirt, he enjoys poetry and romance, he’s always flirting, but it is always couched in comedy. It isn’t clear if he crossed a line.”

Hmmm...I looked up the movie on imdb and the only woman listed in the cast is Keke Palmer. Of course, it could have been any woman on the set. But, that explains it.

The mention of him being single made me think there was some big dust up with his second divorce, and indeed, my memory for totally useless information was correct. Looked it up on old GR, it was messy with allegations of abuse, adultery, drugs and alcohol, and restraining orders.

Makes me wonder how he continued to get work. So many actors in the world and the same destructive egotistical fools are cast in movies.

I love so many his movies but remember hearing lots of stories about his awful behavior. Maybe part of the reason he got away with any of it is because every once in a while his name would pop up (like a little gopher) with some silly, endearing fan encounter story.

I didn't know about that crazy bust up with Richard Dreyfuss. I loved What About Bob when it came out. I was trying to remember what crappy stories I've heard about Dreyfuss in the past, but can't remember. It's just funny that even he and Chevy Chase think he's awful and at least the latter is no ray of sunshine either.

ETA - I can't see Keke Palmer putting up with his shit if this is in regards to her.

I never heard much about his bad behavior on set but the whole fact that he crashes people's weddings and such bothers me. LIke, I don't give a shit if you are Bill Murray it takes balls to just be like, "hi, I'm here." at any event you weren't invited to.

Bill Murray claims “Being Mortal” was shut down due to a “difference of opinion.”

“I had a difference of opinion with a woman I’m working with. I did something I thought was funny, and it wasn’t taken that way,” the actor told CNBC’s Becky Quick on Saturday, while addressing reports claiming his alleged “inappropriate behavior” is what suspended production of Aziz Ansari’s new film.

“I’ve been doing not much else but thinking about it for the last week or two … you know, the world’s different than it was when I was a little kid,” he added.

“What I always thought was funny as a little kid isn’t necessarily the same as what’s funny now. Things change and the time’s changed. So, it’s important for me to figure it out.”

Murray, 71, did not reveal the identity of the other person, but claimed they are “trying to make peace with each other” following the alleged incident.

“We are both professionals, we like each others’ work, we like each other, I think,” he alleged. “If we can’t really get along and trust each other there’s no point in going further, working together or making the movie as well.”

He continued, “What would make me the happiest would be to put my boots on and for both of us to go back into work and be able to trust each other and work at the work that we’ve both spent a lot of time developing the skill of.”

Because all that matters is that Bill is happy 
Murray also admitted that the situation has “been quite an education” for him.

“I think it’s a sad dog that can’t learn anymore,” he said. “That’s a really sad puppy that can’t learn anymore. I don’t want to be that sad dog and I have no intention of it.”

Page Six has reached out to Fox Searchlight for comment.

Last month, a source told Page Six that “Being Mortal” was shut down after Murray was allegedly “touchy” with the women on set.

Lawyers for Murray did not respond to Page Six’s inquiries, and a spokesperson for “Being Mortal” declined to comment at the time.

Dreyfuss had major drug problems.  Apparently, it came to a crisis level during the making of "Whose Life Is It Anyway" where I believe he played a quadriplegic who wanted to end his life.  I watched an interview with him where the reporter pressed him about what people observed about him on the set.  Man, that was awkward.

Dreyfus was also bullied by Robert Shaw during the making of "Jaws".  I think Dreyfus just has a problem with Irish people.  But seriously, Shaw, had a lot of the drinking, bullying attitude that Murray did.  I also tend to think they were a little too method -- Dreyfus' character was a foil or antagonist for Shaw's and Murray's characters on both films.

In May, Butler Murray filed for divorce on the grounds of drug addiction, physical abuse, adultery and abandonment. She also requested a restraining order against her husband.

According to Butler Murray, she felt forced to move with their children to a new home as a result of the actor’s alcohol, marijuana and sex addictions, among other reasons. According to a newspaper report, the filing said that Murray once “hit his wife in the face and then told her she was ‘lucky he didn’t kill her.”

The details of Bill Murray’s “inappropriate conduct” on the set of Aziz Ansari’s “Being Mortal” – which resulted in the production being shut down – have been revealed.

Page Six broke the news in April that a staffer filed a complaint against Murray for being “hands-on touchy” with female staff, but now a new report claims the “Saturday Night Live” alum was “kissing” and “straddling” the alleged victim.

Murray, 72, allegedly began “kissing” the “much younger” staffer’s body and “straddling” her, according to Puck, and she claimed she was unable to move because of his weight.

Witnesses claimed to the outlet that the “Caddyshack” star tried to kiss the woman, but they were both wearing masks.

The accuser claimed to Puck that Murray defended his actions by claiming they were meant to be playful, but the unnamed staffer “interpreted his actions as entirely sexual” and was “horrified.”

A rep for Murray didn’t immediately return Page Six’s request for comment.

About a week after we published our report, Murray appeared on CNBC and defended his actions, claiming the Ansari flick was shut down over a “difference of opinion.”

“I had a difference of opinion with a woman I’m working with. I did something I thought was funny, and it wasn’t taken that way,” the actor told CNBC’s Becky Quick. “I’ve been doing not much else but thinking about it for the last week or two … you know, the world’s different than it was when I was a little kid.”








The “Ghostbusters” star chalked up his mistake to not realizing that time “has changed.”


“Things change and the times changed,” he said. “So, it’s important for me to figure it out.”

The woman and Murray ultimately reached a settlement that included a non-disclosure agreement and also had Murray pay her more than $100,000, according to Puck. The woman also allegedly waived her rights to any legal action she may have been able to bring against Searchlight and Disney.
