Anna knows he's guilty.  She's completely aware of his proclivities, that was one of the reasons for Covenant Eyes on the computer.  Even with this knowledge she continued to create more children with him.  She AND his parents continued to allow him access to multiple children living under the roof of his own house, the big house AND family gatherings he was allowed to attend.  All while being acutely aware of his proclivities.  

When he got busted by the FBI Anna still helped cover for him, and actively participated in attempts by Josh and JimBoob to impede justice and frame/implicate more than one innocent person just to try and keep Josh from going to jail.  Most of these people were friends and even family.   
   
The sisters who were past victims of Josh's were gaslit or outright lied to about the extent of their abuse. Joy Anna, who was youngest victim, only finally got to hear the truth of the extent of the abuse done to her when she was five years old when she sat in on the trial and listened to the testimony.  

The worst of the testimony, Anna removed herself from the courtroom.

Worst of all I think, is her refusal to allow for any of their kids to be interviewed or examined by medical professionals or child psychologists to determine if they might have been victims themselves.  How this hasn't happened yet eludes me, given what we know he did to his sisters and what he's in jail for.  Maybe it won't be up to her now that he's been convicted.  

The underworld Josh participated in was a file sharing one.  Given the sheer volume of files and the severity of the content he'd downloaded and viewed, there was no way his participation was one-sided.  Doesn't necessarily mean he messed with his own kids, but clearly there was exchanging of materials with other low life pond scum. 

She's put children in harm's way, even if it's only the fact that they'll have to read about this one day.  I just can't with Anna anymore.  Grow the the fuck up and choose your children over a pedophile and the fucked up family and cult who created this monster and protected him.

If she's going to continue with this dude I hope they are at least unable to bring anymore children into the world by the time he's cut loose.

^^^ I have not even thought about the file sharing. You are right, there is no way that it was one-sided. That's how they secure themselves, you get some when you give some, so that everyone is equally guilty. how can that not be investigated and how can any adult in that family sleep at night, especially Anna and her in-laws?

I feel really stupid, but can you explain about file sharing? Does that mean he shared files of his own children or other family? Do files shared mean active sexual activity or any normal pictures of children? Sorry, it's vile and gross even asking these questions but can anyone explain a bit?

eta: Lofty, it boggles the mind. I don't understand the fucking head-space that allows someone to twist religion to this level of evil. Well, actually, that's not true. The truth is that a majority of the evil that flourishes in the world is done in the name of 'God' - whether it's child abuse or killing a young woman because her hair isn't covered, or stoning a girl for being raped.

The FBI people who specialize in surveillance and busting people specifically for this type of shit said the stuff on his computer which had been downloaded and viewed multiple times...all times that coincided with him being in the exact place/time(s)...was some of the worst they'd ever seen. As in toddler age babies.

Do any of you guys know the Chrisleys? I don't recall if we ever discussed them on the old board, but Todd and Julie Chrisley recently were sentenced in their federal financial case to 12 years and 7 years in jail respectively.

12 years for ripping off the feds.

12.5 for child sexual abuse.

Something doesn't sit right on that one for me.

As for Anna - one thing that makes me crazy in general is women who are in abusive situations that allow their children to be in the abusive situation. Even if their children are not victims of Josh, the fact that other children ARE should be grounds for divorce. I understand the concept of a woman being trapped, and I know a lot of people like to sympathize with Anna because she's "trapped", but Anna probably has more resources available to her than other women in similar situations. People are crying for her to get out of that family and take her kids with her, but she chooses NOT TO. She chooses to let them be raised in the same system, by the same shady assholes who covered for Josh. I have no respect or sympathy for anyone who chooses their own convenience over protecting their children.

To echo lindsaywhit - this is why I really struggle with religion. So many people use it to dictate their life choices and some of those life choices are just well...stupid.

Josh's possessed and viewed content was some of the worst the investigators had seen due to both the ages of the children and the severity/violence of the abuse.

Even when he bonded out pre-trial and conviction, he had to stay with a family that JimBoob managed to talk into (i.e. strongarm) putting Josh up in their home, as he was not allowed to be within a certain distance of children. And could only be around his own children with supervision of another adult at all times.

The kicker: It was okay for that "adult supervision" to be his wife. The same one actively trying to keep him out of jail and who refused to let the children be examined or interviewed.

Supposedly Anna would bring the kids to see him. But she also spent a lot of time visiting him over at the house he was holed up in. And would leave the kids with the Duggars. Which often times meant Jana, since she's the main mother to these kids while JimBoob and J'chelle are off doing their thing (trips and speaking engagements). I think it was during this time that Jana herself got in trouble for child endangerment when one of these kids wandered off and was found playing in/near a road when she fell asleep on the couch.

These people JimBoob talked into putting Josh up while he was on trial (which I hear they were reluctant but did anyway) had to deal with all sorts of shit like reporters and photographers (and whoever wanted to potentially get at Josh) trespassing on their land. They had to get a fence put around their property and I think even security cameras.

So you see how this pedo ass dude and his problems and his parents and wife trying to protect him inadvertently ended up affecting a lot of folks?

The family that housed Josh are the Rebers. Mrs. Reber apparently wanted no part of the whole arrangement, but somehow JimBob (oh, do I hate him) convinced her husband to take Josh in. He was there for around seven months until he got convicted.
