Ozark Season 4 Part 1 Premieres this Friday, Jan 21

We started watching last night and it's just as good as it was a year ago.

Last I finished watching the 7 episodes of season 4 that have been release.

That final scene with Ruth when she stormed over to the Byrd’s house..OMG, such amazing acting on her part! It felt so raw & real. I want to know what she tapped into to capture that full on rage. I hope she gets an award. She totally deserves it!

I was kind of annoyed because my Google newsfeed spoiled me by showing articles that talked about how fantastic Julia Garner's final scene was and a still from it that showed her rage, I knew instantly what had happened without reading the articles (there was only one thing that could send her spiraling like that IMO).

At any rate she really was born for the role. Ruth is my favorite character on the show, I'm in the line of her being the only one making it out alive of this shitshow.

i finished all 7 episodes in like 2 or 3 nights when my mom was here and we couldn't stop. it's so good.
i had read that there was a shocking death in part 1 and i thought it might be ruth for a second and i swear if they had killed her i'd stop watching the show. she better not fucking die!

I binge watched it over Friday evening and Saturday the week it came out. So good.

Any predictions for what will happen in Part 2?

the big questions are: will marty and wendy a) stay together and b) get away with it

i don't see them all getting away with it and being one big happy family. i could see an ending where ruth and both kids survive and get away with it, or marty if he repents and turns himself in. but wendy's too far gone and she'll die before she gets out, or she'll let the rest of the family go and she'll run her own drug empire.

I think there'll be a time when Marty has to choose between Wendy or someone else. I'm not sure who the someone will be, maybe one of the kids or Ruth but I suspect her fate will be in his hands.

And I really don't think all the Byrds will die but you know at least one of the adults has to go before this all ends, and I hope Wendy because she's a total asshole kingpin who is on borrowed time.

Both these theories could easily be turned around the other way though.

I genuinely believe Ruth will come out alive but I'm not sure she'll come out ahead and have a happily ever after.

What I didn't really get - wasn't the first scene a car crash with the whole Byrd family involved? Will that be in part 2 then? Or did I just dream?

Yea I think it'll be addressed in part 2 and ultimately will start the ball rolling on their end. Someone on YouTube theorized that the last time there was a car accident with the Byrdes it really swung their life in an extreme direction (Wendy was in a car accident that ended her surprise pregnancy that resulted in Marty agreeing to go on a trip with Del in season one) so it makes sense that it's kind of a call back to that.
