Chicken tenders and mashed potatoes, they have to be good chicken tenders though - I'm pretty picky about them. As far as the potatoes I don't care if they're fake or real just give 'em to me. Soft serve twist ice cream

Pretty much what I ate today; mashed potatoes, Mac and cheese, and green beans. Earlier I mixed some pasta salad with broccoli salad for breakfast. I wonder why my doctor wants me to have coronary calcium score test.

Any kind of pasta, but usually if I have a craving it’s for long pasta with mushrooms (cooked with white wine) and finished with cream and fresh parsley. It’s my go to and it would probably be my death row meal.
Banh mi
Ramen or basically any kind of hot soupy Asian noodles
Dumplings basically anything from dim sum to gyoza to pierogies
Sausage, egg and cheese on a toasted brioche roll
Toasted bagel with cream cheese and lox and the works Chocolate and sorbet

Everything with cheese. Raclette for example. I'll even eat it in the summer.
Or my usual gnocchi recipe. Good gnocchi, not the ones that contain a lot of wheat. Preferably potatoes only. Then I'll sauté cherry tomatoes with a good olive oil, then add garlic and butter, some chili flakes, salt and pepper. Then add either mozzarella pearls or mozzarella that has been cut into 1cm dices and throw it in the pan. When the mozzarella starts to melt, throw in the gnocci and stir for a minute or two. Eat immediately and cry because you ate to much for two hours. And then think about eating more.

I like everything - everything is my comfort food. By the way, I never tried gnocchi until our son ordered it on a lark. He orders it half the time we go to Italian restaurants, though.

Pho is another comfort food of mine. As soon as I feel the least bit sick I head straight for the nearest pho soup joint.

I’m so relieved there are other StoveTop whores out there. I just read a crock pot dump recipe with chicken on the bottom and stovetop on top with some cream of mushroom or chicken. I made something similar with chicken on the bottom, stovetop on top and then cream of chicken soup on top of that, only it was baked. So easy, but it just wasn't that good. Maybe it would be better with longer cooking in the crockpot, but it just didn't work for us.

Mashed potatoes and gravy in any form as well as shredded hash browns. Tacos with warm corn tortillas (I even crave the smell of corn tortillas). Al Pastor or shrimp tacos from my favorite Mexican place. Big burritos in the winter (and I have lunch for the next day, too.) I will third the Asian soups, especially when I'm sick - they're way lighter/clearer than American soups and have more flavor than Campbell's (but I am not above opening a can of Campbell's once in a great while) and other American-style soups. If I am lazy and/or have nothing else, I will use instant ramen and add an egg that ends up being poached and vegetables and try to control the salt by adding more water or using less of the seasoning. If it's allergies, sinuses, or a cold, I put a shit ton of white pepper in it. Also add sesame oil and chili oil. I think that's the issue...American soups tend to be bland on purpose whereas you get some pepper and spice in Asian soups which, in my non-medical opinion, kind of helps you feel better. But soup in general is definitely a comfort food. I will also cosign any kind of dumplings - gyoza/pot stickers, bread dumplings, potato, pierogi, shumai, bahn bao (I could probably eat those every day for the rest of my life, tbh), piroshki, and basically if it's dough around something savory I will nom nom. Except there was a Polish place by me that served the most lovely buttery blueberry pierogis and I just made dessert out of them. I grew up eating these weird potato dumplings from Acadia/Maritime Provinces called poutine râpée that we used to make around New Years before my Dad died...I was going to make them this year, but I could barely stand up for most of the year so it didn't happen. Chicken pot pie (even the frozen kind, I'm sorry; but I do make homemade down to the pie dough) Shepherd's pie - the traditional kind and one with curry seasonings Curry in general, come to think of it Every once in a while, I want homemade tuna casserole with peas...and yes, the dreaded canned soup. I can't help that part of my upbringing. lol It's impossible to find real, old-fashioned Italian food anymore...but Italian food in all its forms and not just pasta. I was thinking what my favorite pasta is and I think at this point it might be Cajun pasta with panéed chicken and shrimp. Chicken Vesuvio. Arancini. Beef stroganoff from scratch with NY Strip. One of my favorite things to cook and to eat. Oh and roast beef au jus and mashed potatoes. Sometimes with Yorkshire pudding and all the fixings. Or roast chicken with fresh tarragon... Southern American food in general. Some of it's expected (fried chicken, bbq, etc.) but also a lot of the seafood, stews, different kinds of breads, vegetables that I used to eat when I was a kid that are now just hipster food. Weirdly, when I was sick, I started going out of my mind craving pizza. And that pizza was the best pizza I've had in years. I like New York and very specific Chicago pizzas (usually thin crust and if it has to be deep dish it has to be from a place I trust). Maybe I should have listed the things I don't like.

^ I love curry too. I put it in my chicken pot pie recipe and I think it really adds a lot.
Chicago pizza - do you like Gino's? Haven't been there for years but I think people either love it or hate it.
