I am definitely NOT a morning person. Did that shit for years and now I'm retired so I don't even own an alarm clock. I don't have an alarm clock either.
I usually go to sleep around 2:00 AM and wake up between 10:00-11:00 AM. Unless I am really tired, I can't go to bed with the intention of sleeping any earlier than that because I just won't fall asleep. Then I start feeling anxious and am up all night. I do like to read in bed. I find that to be very relaxing.

Absurd morning person. I naturally wake around 5/5:30 without an alarm. It's handy for a standard work schedule but sucks on the weekends if I have events in the evenings... as I'm pretty well useless after 9pm. Same, except I wake up at 4am. People make fun of me for going to bed when it is still light out during the summer. The only reason I have an alarm on my phone is to get my ass out of bed on weekdays. Otherwise I would be stuck down some rabbit hole on the internet.

Night owl; I'm a RN & I love the night shift (most of the time). You're already an RN? What made you decide to go to law school? I've been a RN for almost 20 years & I'm just burned out. I love my job but I cannot see myself doing this for another 20 years due to the physical/emotional/mental toll that the profession takes on you. I still want to use my RN skills but in a different way. I would like to become a healthcare attorney & maybe help solve some of the problems we have w/the U.S. healthcare system. Most of it is ran by people with business degrees who have never actually worked in the field. To me, that is like someone trying to build a house when they can even saw a board. We need to watch our $$$ *BUT* there are so many ways we can do that & make healthcare better, not worse. Business people only see numbers & not people. For example, nursing staffing ratios. I've had nights where I've had 9 patients & they were all stable & slept (this is very rare!). I've also had nights where I've had 9 patients & all of them were unstable & up & down. I've had nights where 1 patient was so bad that he/she kept me running all through my shift. Business people just look at the numbers on a floor & decide how many nurses should be there. They have no idea that it's not the # of people but how sick they are. Staffing has always been an issue & w/the pandemic it's even worse. It's time for me to move on.

i'm the same way. plus i'm an insomniac, have a hard time getting to sleep at night. i could probably use an extra 1/2 hr of sleep in the AM but don't get to sleep in during the week. and on the weekends, i probably could sleep an extra hour but my body is so used to getting up, that i can't go back to sleep.

Night owl since birth. My late mom used to say that as a baby, I'd stay wide awake until the adults went to bed.

i'm an early bird, and i need my sleep. 8AM to 11PM. on the weekends i love to take some siestas (naps) with my cat. if i stay up very late i get a rush like i'm drunk or on drugs or something. i kinda like it.

My mother told my husband that I wasn't a morning person 50 years ago. I can get up early if necessary, just have coffee ready and don't make me think too much.

i'm less of a night owl than i used to be but i still resent having to go anywhere or be presentable before 10am, even if i've been up for hours. i also need a LOT of sleep, as in 7 hours is the bare minimum but i need minimum 8 to really feel like myself.
at the start of the pandemic, i went to bed later than usual and slept in since i didn't have to commute anywhere for work but when i started exercising in the mornings, i started enjoying getting up earlier and having free time in the a.m to get up and have my tea, read the news, work out, shower and get dressed and really ease my way into the work day. i also used to waste a lot more time at work in the morning and i would do my serious thinking work in the afternoon, sometimes finishing quite late. now i like to get that out of the way in the morning so that i can leave the lighter stuff like emails for the afternoon. i'm still rarely in bed before 11, but i'm also rarely still up after 12, whereas it used to be pretty common. i aim for bedtime at 11 and up at 7, most days it's more like 11:30-7:30. and i have to set alarms or i'll keep sleeping for at least an hour or two more.
i still LOVE being up at night though, it's when i feel like my time is really my time because no one is going to call or message and the whole world is asleep and quiet and dark. during the weekend i'm rarely in bed before 1 or 2, even if i'm just hanging out at home. but these days i rarely let myself sleep past 9 on weekends, maybe 10 if i was really up super late.

Night owl, always have been. I used to hate getting stuck with the early shift at work, 7 a.m. is like the middle of the night.

I am trying to maintain some kind of schedule - I gave myself this week but starting on Monday I want to be up early, exercise, and start work around 8-8:30am. I used to have a long lunch & finish later but I want to stop that so that I finish earlier & maybe get a life….. I’ll let y’all know how that goes lol!

If I do what my body naturally wants, I'm a night owl & get up between 9a-10a with no alarm set.
Unfortunately, I because I work in the OR, I have to be at work at 6:30a on the days I work, which means I get up 4:45a I try to go to bed around 9p when I have to go to work the next morning.
