I didn't start watching until around episode 7 of this season, then had to go back and catch up. Kind of a modern take on "Lord of the Flies", except with a high school girl's soccer team. Ensemble cast, but most notable stars are Juliette Lewis, Christina Ricci and Ella Purnell. The show flashes back and forth constantly between the plane crash that marooned them, leading to all kinds of messed-up stuff. To the present, where they are all adults, having never gotten over the aftermath, and leading to even more messed-up stuff.

Oh I've been wondering about this show. I may have to give it a go. I do love Juliette Lewis' crazy ass.

I've been wondering too. This sounds interesting enough to give it a go.

I keep reading about it too and wanting to watch. I might have to pull the trigger and get Showtime.

Mo! Great user name!
I have been dialed into this show since the premiere, because I am a fan of so many of the actors. It is crazy as all get-out, as we say in the south, and I can’t wait to see what happens in Season 2.

Iif you have prime, you can add a subscription to Showtime for a free trial, binge Yellowjackets, and then cancel.

I also wanted to add that Ella Purnell is a very striking looking person, and I'll watch something just because she is in it. This was a great performance for her. I also love Sophie Thatcher - she does a really good job with an intense character whose emotions are all over the place.

for me melanie lynskey is the underrated gem of this series. i mean she's an underrated gem in general but a lot of reviews tend to focus a lot more on christina ricci and juliette lewis and don't get me wrong they're fucking amazing but lynskey is just as good if not better.

I agree about Melanie Lynskey - I kind of feel like she has to carry most of the load in the modern-day part of the show. Juliette Lewis has gotten even better with her dramatic flair as time has gone on. I was kind of shocked that she seems older than I expected - not just in general, but also compared to the other present-day characters.

i think it's because she's older than the rest of the cast and also hasn't had any botox or plastic surgery. she's 48 compared to ricci who's 41, lynskey who's 44 and tawny cypress who's 45 (and looks 10 years younger than her age). i love her face so much though, she's so expressive and interesting to look at, and everything still moves lol

A year or two ago, she was on some series that starred Jennifer Garner and Lewis' character goes running skinny dipping into a lake in front of everyone - clearly not a body double. She still has the physique of someone in her mid to late 20's. I think the best physical character transition in this show is Misty's - the young and older versions are really well aligned.

I LOVE Melanie Lynskey! Did you hear me yell that? Because I did...have seen just about everything she has been in. Such a great range. Loved her in “Lady of the Manor.” Sophie also is fantastic as the young Shauna, and she has quite the portfolio. She was fantastic in “The Great Gilly Hopkins.” And Ella Purnell! Want to see more of her roles.

FYI Showtime offers a free 30 day trial of their streaming service, whereas Amazon's add on is only 7 days. I grabbed the free 30 days for this and Dexter.
But yes OMG, this show is fantastic! I can't stop thinking about it! I'm planning to do a rewatch when I finish getting through Ozark and Dexter. Are we allowed to discuss theories/thoughts or are we staying spoiler free here for a bit?
