Gordon Ramsay has announced the birth of his sixth child, as he and his wife Tana welcome a 7lbs 10oz "whopper" to the family. The celebrity chef, 57, strongly suggested that Jesse James Ramsay would be his last child, posting on social media: "3 boys, 3 girls.... Done." Cookery book author Tana, 49, married Ramsay in 1996. Ramsay posted pictures of Jesse and Tana in hospital on Saturday night. The baby boy, wearing a pink hat, can be seen in his mother's arms in three images, one of which shows his father kissing him on the head. Ramsay, who celebrated his birthday on Wednesday, wrote on Instagram: "What an amazing birthday present, please welcome Jesse James Ramsay, 7lbs 10oz whopper!! "One more bundle of love to the Ramsay brigade!! 3 boys, 3 girls.... Done." It is unclear exactly when Jesse was born. The couple are already parents to Megan, the eldest, who is now in her mid-20s; twins Jack and Holly, Matilda "Tilly" and Oscar. www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-67395138

49 is way the hell up there. Since they already had 5, this sounds like an oops baby. It totally could have happened to us if we hadn't taken precautions....

^ I think Gordon said a while back that Tana really wanted another baby. Seems crazy to me. But each to their own!

They can afford it and he's an involved parent so why not? I like them and he's a good bloke (not like his TV persona) from a very poor background. http://instagram.com/p/Czg4DJVRYX7

Congrats to them.
I had a dream that I was pregnant, at 57. I can't even imagine having a baby now. I'll take a grandchild though! All the cuddles, none of the exhaustion!

I think he has adopted a pretty vivid persona for all the tv shows he does. The few times I've seen him, it's been very entertaining. Also, he is exactly the same age as me. My main reason for being against this is that he'll be about 75, God willing, when his son is 18. I have no doubt about my ability to keep up with a newborn and a child because of my lifestyle. But it would have been a catastrophe for me if I had lost my dad when he was 73, and if I were 15 (relative age differences between Gordon and his newborn). On the positive side, he has older siblings who will hopefully step in...

On the positive side, he has older siblings who will hopefully step in... I had a friend who's father was 90 when he was 30... His mum was 70+? GR was brought up rough as fuck; as lot of his comments are "jokes" that people don't take as such & it gets him into trouble. But he has a 80+% retention rate in an industry that is 70%; he promotes women, when he was on kiddies MasterChef he was great with the kids. His recipe books work(!) & he has bits where he has "if X happens do this..." which I have never seen in a celebrity cook book before. I bought a cookbook of his at a motorway service station (freeway rest stop?) and cooked sea bass for a birthday dinner the next day. The birthday person said that it was better than some restaurant dinners that they had had; and I'm not that good a cook & they don't skimp when eating out. Sorry this turned out longer than I planned but, yeah, hope it all turns out well for them. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gordon_Ramsay

I love hearing that about him. I admit, he kind of looks fierce and sarcastic, but I have misjudged MANY, MANY people at first glance. I had a coworker once who looked at me when I would walk by like he was a serial killer or something. But when I actually started to work closely with him, he was one of the nicest guys I've ever met. Some people just have kind of a rough exterior or are not exactly diplomatic, but I will always take the time to figure out who they actually are.

He'll be 75 when that baby graduates high school. Seems unfair to the baby, but not my circus not my monkeys.

When I read the headline I thought for sure it was a menopause mistake. Good luck to them.

My colleagues who are 10+ years my senior have younger parents than me and can not relate to my struggles. Not judging anyone for their choices, just my reality. Love Gordon though, I named my last pet after him. His snark is inspiring
