Compared to her usual dowdy shit, Kate looks rather fashionable in this sweater/skirt combo. I agree, I think this is way more age appropriate than her retired rich lady attire. |

she has the colouring to pull off head to toe oatmeal and i agree it's a lot more fashionable and youthful than her usual. a slightly darker lip would have been great though.

I love the oatmeal outfit, but not on her figure. That is not a slight to Kate. With her body shape and a long torso, I just don't like the fit on her, it would look better on a curvier figure with a shorter torso. That said I like it more than the coat dresses.

the current iteration of flared jeans is often worn cropped and what makes this version of the trend slightly less offensive, though i will never be a fan of flared pants of any type. compared to the awful super long and super low-waisted early 00s version, these are way better IMO.

The slightly shorter look reminds me too much of days gone by when you could always tell the poorer kids because their pants were always a little too short, either because they were hand-me-downs or because your parents couldn't afford to keep up with your growth spurts. I hate them dragging on the floor too, so when I wore bootcut jeans I aimed for the happy medium. |
