When Anne was in NZ in Feb she did nearly half of Cathy's total engagements for the year & I'll bet that Cathy's wardrobe costs are 4x Anne's

per harry's book (but i'd also heard it somewhere else before), the heir is intentionally asked not to do as many engagements so as not to take attention away from the monarch. it was the case for both william/kate and charles/camilla when elizabeth was alive, until she got too old and stepped back and charles/camilla took on a bigger role, and it's still the case for william/kate, and i think it will be for a long time because if harry - and the writers of the crown - are to be believed, charles/camilla are super touchy about sharing the limelight. charles especially since he already lived through that with diana. according to one of the most deliciously petty parts of harry's book (which is too long and self-important and would have been better if it were shorter and pettier), charles/camilla were even concerned about kate's name - catherine - because there were already two senior royals with the initial c (charles and camilla), and charles at some point even wondered out loud if kate could change the spelling of her name to katherine lol. so yeah, william/kate aren't doing as many engagements and it's not because of laziness.
plus, i think anne does a lot because she wants to and doesn't have any hobbies other than horse racing, not because it actually matters, or because it's actual 'work'. it's silly to equate the number of engagements with whether or not royals 'earn their keep'. but if it did, then anne probably does have more to prove in terms of justifying her existence because she's not heir to anything, isn't raising any heirs and there isn't any real reason for her being there at all and getting paid besides going to ribbon cutting ceremonies.

Pretty sure it includes zoom calls and such. I'm not saying she's not working hard for a royal but let's not exaggerate and assume it's equivalent to a really demanding full time job like us commoners have, or that she's some kind of workaholic. and if she is it's probably because she doesn't have anything better to do with her time. That's not what I meant by any means. Obviously there are more physically demanding and necessary jobs than what she's doing, but I personally would be happier standing on my feet pushing a button for 8 hours than having to run around smiling for pictures and shaking people's hands. |

Me too, I would fucking hate royal life. My comment wasn’t directly responding to yours, sorry if that wasn’t clear. It was more in response to all the praise anne gets for being the most “hardworking” royal compared to the rest.

William’s a knob for a lot of reasons and sounds like a spoiled, jealous baby, and Kate sounds like a fake and a schemer, I just don’t think they’re lazy. I think they work very hard at being boring twats lol
their lives sound like a nightmare of scheming courtiers and petty rivalries and imagined slights.

i'm colourblind so maybe the dress is green and lovely but it looks like shit brown velvet to me and just why? why would you wear a dress that colour? maybe it's the light or the photo and it's supposed to be a dark gold colour but it just looks BROWN.
