I know, right? Then I thought, oh he'll just go somewhere else to spew his lies, like Newsmax. Or start a podcast. I hope he had a non-compete clause in his contract. I guess it took almost $800 million for Fox to realize what a liability this guy was. that's the first thing i thought, he'll probably just start a podcast or go to newsmax where they're so insane they make fox look like the bbc.

Just saw that CNN fired Don Lemon too. I wonder what's going on there; Tucker's sitch is obvious. Supposedly, it's over treatment of coworkers, and that the story was continuing to evolve. My guess would be podcast. I believe there will be suits against both OAN and Newsmax, and hiring him would probably be counterproductive to an absense of malice defense. I also hear that Fox is not done yet. I guess we'll see over the next couple of days.

Yeah, the Smartmatic settlement is next, as well as the suit filed from Abby Grossman, Fox is poised to be out a lot of money.
I also have a theory...based on nothing other than a hunch....Fox would have libel insurance right? What if the insurance company said they were no longer going to cover Tucker based on how it's documented that he knowing lied and committed libel?

There's a theory going about on the interwebs that the reason why Dominion settled for $800 million was that part of the settlement included Fucker's head rolling.

^^^^ i'd love that to be true but i'm skeptical because most of the statements used as evidence against Fox hinged on stuff said by second-tier Fox hosts, not fucker, even though what got the most attention were the text messages that came out in disovery and that made it into the media. i think this is leadership at fox (and rupert) pissed off at tucker's because it's his text messages that made it clear fox was lying to pander to their viewers. with anyone else it's obvious they would have to go, with fucker it's still a little bit surprising just because of how popular he is but not entirely.
as for dominion making demands, i think the reason the settlement was so big is precisely because they didn't get any other concessions from fox beyond the money - no apology, no acknowledgement they lied, etc.

I listen to a few politics podcasts on the regular and word on the 'street' is that some of the internal communications that surfaced as part of the Dominion case made it clear that he did create a hostile work environment, was sexist and other such awfulness - one wouldn't think fox would care about that stuff too much but fox is being sued by Abby Grossberg for "a hostile and discriminatory work environment" ... they may be heading things off at the pass and just tidying house. Everyone thought Oreilly leaving fox would be a big deal but then Carlson slipped right into that spot with no issue ... they have a frothy base to tend to, the overturning of the figurehead will have minimal impact on the network ... unfortunately.

The latest I'd heard was that more was going to come out on him. That Grossberg is sitting on something like 90 other really bad text or email messages. And that Tucker will not say a peep because Fox has a set of its own messages to leak if he does.
