Probably even more unpopular opinion, not to defend Ghislaine but it pisses me off that the only person facing any real consequences in this whole affair is a woman, meanwhile Epstein died on his terms, Andrew is fine and none of the other gross men who exploited these girls is being held accountable.

^ ITA. Not saying she didn't get what she deserved but it sucks that she's left holding the bag while all the other criminals are breathing sighs of relief and going about their lives. She really should've spilled and I hope she finally does. (fat chance I know she would rather stay alive)

And she may or may not have got "what she deserved" but she is also sentenced for Epstein & all the men that have got off scot-free. |

I only saw the first episode of the Ghislaine Maxwell series (forgot which cable channel), but she comes across in there as kind of a rootless "pleaser" of whatever guy she was under the thrall of. First, it was her dad (Robert), who was a tyrant. But treated her better than the other Maxwell kids because she was the youngest, beautiful, and could do no wrong in the eyes of her father. So, she got an early start in ingratiating herself with a-holes and crooks.
A former woman friend interviewed on the program said that when they were in their twenties, there was a party at Ghislaine's house, and that toward the end Ghislaine was trying to get the women to play a game where the guys would be blindfolded, the women would get topless, and the guys would try to guess which woman is which by feeling their breasts. The friend and another woman, made an excuse and left. She said that Ghislaine was basically implying they weren't "fun" by not participating.
Some time after this, her father died, and then the extent of all his financial misdeeds was exposed. This threw her for a complete loop, made her the target of paparazzi in London, and she escaped to America to be more anonymous. Somehow, around that time, she fell under the thrall of Jeffrey Epstein.
In all honesty, I don't think Ghislaine Maxwell really has the goods on anybody. Plus, she was so inextricably tied to being his lead "procurer", it would be difficult to get a deal even if she could name someone and prove it happened.
