I don't know - she inherited and made millions/billions on the backs of the millions of people who curtsy or bow to the ultimately entitled robber barons of the royal family. Her 'subjects' are worried about their heating bills this winter while her children and grandchildren (even the thirsty pedophile) live in sumptuous wealth. Why should selected parts of her life be kept secret when she was never hired or elected and held a position from which she couldn't be laid off or fired unless the constitution was changed?
The monarchy was intimately involved with the British slave trade - indeed, the monarchy financed the slave trade and it was a protected and regulated enterprise in the British Empire. In the 17th century Charles II granted a charter to the Royal African Company and his brother, James II, would later become its governor. Under royal blessing, the company became the largest single slave trader in British history, bringing perhaps 100,000 captive Africans to the Americas before 1713.
Ancient history?
The provenances of some of the Crown Jewels is so blood drenched and controversial that they can't be worn publicly, which should be interesting to watch because among those stolen from India and Africa three of the biggest and best will be worn or carried by King Chuckie and Queen Rottie at their coronation.
Prince William inherited the title of Duke of Cornwall and with it the Duchy of Cornwall, a 128,000-acre estate established in 1337, in order to provide income to the oldest son of the British monarch. It's estimated to be worth over a billion dollars and provides a yearly income that came to $24 million in 2021.
$24,000,000. Yearly. To that petty-ass, racist, thoroughly entitled jackass.
Just let that sink in.
Not my country, not my tax dollars, but come on - the fact she had cancer should be a secret?

^ She still had a right to privacy with certain things. It always seems a bit tacky to sell tell all type stories/books to me anyway, no matter who they are about.

Everyone has a right to privacy regarding their health. She was a figurehead, nothing more. A President, etc suffering from a neurocognitive disorder- they should step aside (looking at you Ronald Regan) but even then we don’t have a right to know.

It seems like no one knows how to kerp gheir mouths shut now. Not if the price is right. The right price for Gyles Brandreth is the opportunity to hear his own voice. As for whether he should be spouting off about the Queen's real or supposed health issues before her passing, I'd say no. Privacy is still a thing, even if you are a public figure. It doesn't matter about how much wealth she had or what she cost, she was still a human being and we don't own people. I understand how lindsaywhit feels but really, what got the Queen in the end makes no difference to whether I can afford to turn the heating on or have decent meals. I put the blame for the difficulties the average Brit is facing right where it belongs - on the Tory government and those who voted for them again and again.

Her weight loss this year was quite evident, for the first time I saw that she was very frail and not robustly healthy as she had always been. I think losing her beloved husband and then getting COVID were the major causes of her decline and then death. Like many others I hoped she would make it to 100 plus like her mother, but it was not to be. I miss her beautiful smile and those fabulous fun hats she wore later in life. 😣

Buckingham Palace Aide Resigns After Repeatedly Asking Black Guest Where She Was 'Really From' By Kayleigh Donaldson | Celebrity | November 30, 2022 | 55 Comments Today in ‘reasons to abolish the monarchy’ news, a major aide to the royal family at Buckingham Palace was forced to resign after it was revealed that she repeatedly asked a Black woman where she was ‘really from.’ Ngozi Fulani, founder of charity Sistah Space, was questioned by Lady Susan Hussey at a charity event in the palace for campaigners and activists focused on fighting violence against women. Fulani shared the experience on Twitter, where she referred to the culprit only as Lady SH. An eyewitness to the conversation, Mandu Reid, confirmed the conversation to BBC News. Hussey repeatedly asked Fulani where she was from, not accepting Hackney or the UK as an answer despite her having been born here. She asked, ‘what part of Africa are you from’ and ‘where do your people come from?’ While Fulani did not name the aide in question, Hussey’s identity was quickly figured out. Buckingham Palace released a statement this afternoon, saying: ‘We take this incident extremely seriously and have investigated immediately to establish the full details. In this instance, unacceptable and deeply regrettable comments have been made. We have reached out to Ngozi Fulani on this matter, and are inviting her to discuss all elements of her experience in person if she wishes. In the meantime, the individual concerned would like to express her profound apologies for the hurt caused and has stepped aside from her honorary role with immediate effect. All members of the household are being reminded of the diversity and inclusivity policies which they are required to uphold at all times.’ Susan Hussey, Baroness Hussey of North Bradley previously served as a lady-in-waiting to Queen Elizabeth II. She is a godmother of Prince William and was chosen to accompany the Queen at the funeral of Prince Philip. Oh, and she also reportedly offered Prince Harry and Meghan Markle ‘advice’ prior to their wedding. And, according to a new book, claimed their marriage would ‘end in tears.’ She seems like a nice person, eh? Remember when Harry and Meghan were pretty consistent in describing the racism and cruelty that she faced within the palace walls, mostly from aides and the so-called old grey men? Not that we needed further proof that they were right — we have centuries of history on our side on that front — but hearing it all said so starkly and casually says a lot. Imagine thinking that this cesspool of imperialism and snobbery could ‘modernize.’ Imagine the wilful blindness one must possess to keep around this gaggle of people who giddily ask Black women where they’re ‘really from.’ One doubts this was an isolated moment of racist mouth-vomit from Lady Hussey. What else has she said behind closed doors at the palace that has kept her around for decades? If these are the people who the new King wants to be his goons, then I’m not sure any palace apology will fix the issue. Again, abolish the monarchy. link
THIS was the woman tasked with getting Meghan acquainted with things? The press is trying to downplay this woman’s importance but she’s Williams god mother and worked for the Queen. She’s an insider. Imagine what she says at non-official events, to people who aren’t honored guests?

^^^I don't even want to imagine that. In her Tweet, Ngozi Fulani described how Susan Hussey touched her hair before that conversation. The audacity.

touched her hair? oy
i bet some of royalists will defend SH... they will say it's normal to ask people where they're from. the same way some people thought it wasn't a biggie that someone asked about the color MM's baby would be. *facepalm*

I’m sure this was not the publicity Wills and Kate wanted for their trip to Boston.

I think they would have still kept her if it wasn't for this. She's the one in green in the back row in this photo

the reason i was saying that maybe they used this as an excuse is because chuck has said he wants to trim down the monarchy. and maybe camilla didn't like her anyway so this was an opportunity to dump SH. look, i don't have any intel but i've seen this kind of thing happen a LOT in the corporate world.

Yeah it's a fair point, you might be right. This is from an article a few days ago: Queen Camilla is ending the ladies-in-waiting tradition. Instead, the Queen Consort will be assisted by "Queen's companions." The six woman assistants will serve a more modern role to Camilla. Per the BBC, "The honorary positions involve helping the Queen Consort at public events. Unlike the ladies-in-waiting, this slimmed-down role will not involve correspondence or administration. Replacing the role of lady-in-waiting will end a feature of court life going back to the middle ages, with such close personal helpers of a Queen often coming from aristocratic families and, over the centuries, sometimes caught up in court intrigue." www.townandcountrymag.com/society/tradition/a42085147/queen-camilla-ladies-in-waiting/
