Well, a slip wouldn't have hurt I guess. If it were a "normal" person I wouldn't have noticed it (and in fact didn't here until it was pointed out), but in these circles it's different I suppose. But it kind of looks like she has a half slip or lining covering the important/naughty/crotch parts. I think when that happened to Kate, you could see a lot more thigh, etc.
My takeaway from these pics was...what exactly IS Kate's dress code? Is she allowed to wear prints? Everyone else is, but she always has those drab, matronly dresses. With buttons. Lots of buttons. I sometimes think she's trolling the whole RF with the depressing shit she wears when she isn't required to wear the stuffy coat dresses.
I like Kate's shoes except for the toe cleavage.

Fuck a slip lol. I don’t think I know anyone under the age of 60 who even owns one in 2022 and those circles need to take the stick out of their ass and stop unnecessarily sexualising women’s bodies. plus, we already know they’re going to bitch regardless what the women wear or don’t wear and it has more to do with shaming and controlling them than actual propriety.

^LOL, I totally get what you're saying. I used to have slips in the early aughts, but I don't know where they went at this point. They sometimes help clothes hang better IMO, and most skirts aren't made so you need them, but at this point I don't think they're necessary to cover anything up unless you're ROYAL. I try not to wear things that are super see through anyway and I think most sheer dresses are aesthetically ugly but those usually require lining (or crinoline even) more than a slip.
I definitely agree about shaming women's bodies in general. But even so, it's a little bit amusing to poke fun at Carole for *gasp* not being proper. I just realized that pink dress IS Kate's dress.

^Oops! Thanks for letting me know. I have brain fog this afternoon and didn't realize that. I still wonder how much of her clothes are her choice or her trying to navigate the choices given to her, etc. I get conditioned to think she likes everything she wears. She definitely doesn't have her mind set on fashion and working within the rules like Diana did. I wasn't a huge fan of all of Diana's outfit, but I understand them more.

sorry but what's inappropriate about seeing the silhouette of her legs? I could understand if you could see nipples or butt crack but this? Too many people will be "clutching their pearls" it was such a big deal repeatedly first with Saint Diana blah blah blah. Maybe she just did it for coum inches? Also decent underwear always helps clothes hang better. And if you are wearing tights they help with static. And I have slips for under unlined dresses.

It's not so much that it's inappropriate. It's just surprising. This is a lady who did everything she feasibly could to advance her daughter and her family to assure the end result was the place Kate is now. I just figured if anyone would be "proper" enough to never put so much as a toe out of line, including wearing a slip under a dress, it would be Mama Middleton.
I was actually trying to decide if she was possibly wearing a half slip of some spanx type thing underneath this. Cause you really only see the outline of her legs up to a certain point.
I guess she feels a tad more secure in her position now that some time has passed with her daughter having had it locked down and having popped out an heir and some spares. (And marked her territory by banishing the fugly mistress from the friend circle)

I own a couple of slips for the rare occasions I wear a dress or skirt. I find it gives a smoother shape, as waterslide said. Anyway in this case I think it's more likely shapewear that's showing.

Any time I’ve worn a slip I find I overheat and the back of my knees sweats lol so yeah I kind of hate them. I get what you’re saying about tights making skirts stick but I solved that with black tights (the only kind i wear) that are pretty silky so that doesn’t happen anymore.

Yeah, I don't miss those old Hue tights that were thick and had little stretch and did stick to anything. I used to wear them in high school a lot.

The Duchess of York has said her ex-husband Prince Andrew is a ‘good and kind man’, following his recent settlement of sexual assault allegations. Sarah Ferguson denied living full time with the Duke of York at the Royal Lodge in Windsor, where she spends time with him and their two daughters. She said she spends a lot of her time abroad doing philanthropic work – but said she stood by Prince Andrew despite the recent hit to his reputation. In an interview with Times Radio, she said: ‘”It’s a place where we are a united front with the girls. It’s their home.’ She said she believed people should ‘clean your side of the street’ and act with integrity then once you’ve done that, then if anyone else has a problem it is their problem. ‘I will stand very firmly by Andrew who is a very good and kind man,’ she said. Prince Andrew, who has always denied allegations of sex assault, settled a civil case brought by Virginia Guiffre who claims she was made to have sex with him three times when she was 17, and the victim of a trafficking ring orchestrated by billionaire paedophile Jeffry Epstein. Asked if she would marry him again if she could go back and do things differently, Ms Ferguson said ‘oh yes’. metro.co.uk/2022/06/14/sarah-ferguson-says-prince-andrew-is-a-good-and-kind-man-16828497/She's mad

Well of course she's going to say this. She has benefitted from that marriage from day one.
That doesn't mean he isn't an asshole and a pedo.
Even serial killers sometimes have whole families and colleagues and circles of friends and acquaintances where they are highly thought of.

They’re both nuts and codependent but also kind of made for each other? I think they would have stayed married if her cheating scandal hadn’t been made public and he was basically forced to divorce her by the firm. I imagine privately they were both probably fine with each other’s dalliances.

I'm convinced they've been low key fucking and never stopped.

I think they've been fucking this whole time, too. They seem symbiotically attached with Fergie being greatly rewarded for her kind words and being the keeper of Andrew's secrets. I think she would do it for nothing more than his attention, but she does get money from him doesn't she?
