This is so extra it makes me worried a baby might be next. i seriously doubt ben wants any more babees. and no way is she gonna do IVF at 50+. but then again daniel craig and rachel weisz did it so what do i know. I know good and goddamn well this chick has some frozen eggs stored up somewhere.

I like the house. New build or restored, it's just a house style and it's beautiful. I love all the wide-plank wood floor. I wouldn't expect someone to sell a perfectly good family home just because their ancestors had owned slaves. I WOULD expect (hope is a better word) them to not be racist in this day and age. I guess I just see them as very separate issues.

I just don't see the point of him having a property like that. I mean, does he live there? Has he ever lived there? It's in GEORGIA. Not that there's anything wrong with Georgia but it's not exactly a vacation destination either.
But JLo finally got to be married where they were supposed to get married so long ago. Soulmates, together at last. I would hope they don't do the surrogate baby thing, but you know she originally planned to have her babeees with Ben, but then he dumped her and she had to settle for Marc Anthony as her baby daddy. So who knows.

It might be a PR issue only because he's a celebrity, but honestly the guy's got far worse issues to worry about, unless he's actually racist or pro-Antebellum bullshit. I don't know, all I've ever heard about are his bone-deep love of strippers, gambling and drinking. The blind might be true (although all his bios say nothing about GA, only Massachusetts), and maybe he just likes the style. I like it, it doesn't mean much about my disapproval regarding Southern racist history.

The linked article says Ben tried to sell the house in 2018 but then changed his mind and kept it throughout the pandemic (maybe he spent a lot of lockdown there?). my guess is they’re having the wedding there because it’s big and private and secluded but also to drum up publicity for the estate and then sell it.
And I’m with beeyotch I’m not seeing the reason for outrage over the architectural style of the house. I would never buy a replica of an old house because I’m kind of a purist and I don’t like fake antiques but there’s way worse as far as celebrity mansions go.

I agree, I don't understand the dislike/outrage for what is simply a perception of a architectural styles. Neoclassical or Greek revival homes in the South to me are like seeing salt boxes or colonials in New England, or Spanish style in California, etc. whether it's new build or historic. I cannot stand the new ugly ass McMansions many celebs buy down south- looking at you ATL.

Apparently a lot of plantation/antebellum houses have stopped hosting weddings. The only way I come close to understanding why it might be distasteful/crass/(not sure of the word) is if someone decided to get married at Wolf's Lair or Summer Palace?
The real reason Casey Affleck skipped Ben, Jennifer Lopez’s wedding
By Francesca Bacardi
August 22, 2022 | 8:19am Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck tie the knot in Georgia ceremony
Casey Affleck was unable to make it to Georgia for his brother’s lavish wedding because it appears he had to take his son Atticus to soccer practice.
The “Manchester by the Sea” star’s girlfriend, Caylee Cowan, shared a since-deleted comment underneath Casey’s Instagram tribute to Bennifer 2.0 that gave away his real plans.
Casey Affleck likely not attending brother Ben’s wedding to Jennifer Lopez Casey Affleck’s girlfriend, Caylee Cowan, wakes up to burglar staring at her Eric Adams fêted at ‘top secret’ A-list dinner in Los Angeles
“Hey, if you weren’t in town Saturday to take Atty to soccer practice then who would’ve helped the kid who broke his arm?” she wrote.
“You’re a good man. I love you.”
A rep for Casey didn’t immediately return Page Six’s request for comment.
Cowan’s comment came after paparazzi caught up with Casey, 47, at Starbucks where he, looking uncomfortable, told the cameras he had “other things” to do.
Casey Affleck’s girlfriend commented — and deleted — that her beau was busy taking his son Atticus to soccer practice instead of attending Ben and Jennifer Lopez’s wedding.
A source later told People that the “Gone Baby Gone” actor had to miss the nuptials “because of family, parental obligations at home.”
The “Hustlers” star, 53, and “Good Will Hunting” actor, 50, tied the knot Saturday evening in a ritzy ceremony officiated by Jay Shetty at Ben’s $8 million estate in Riceboro. Lopez told Affleck “I do” for the second time while wearing a dazzling Ralph Lauren gown that featured a 20-foot veil.
Bennifer 2.0 — who initially tied the knot in Las Vegas earlier this summer — welcomed A-listers such as Matt Damon and Jimmy Kimmel, along with talent agent Patrick Whitesell, Australian model Pia Miller and “Jay and Silent Bob” stars Kevin Smith and Jason Mewes.
The dress code seemed to call for all guests to wear white.
On Sunday, the newlyweds invited the intimate group of family and friends to a picnic-like brunch. A-list event planner Colin Cowie was hired to plan the three-day affair that Page Six exclusively reported last month.

So who knows. it's in GA but is on the coast ... some people like the coast there (not me). anyway, regarding the plantation style, to me it's tied up with slavery. i've never seen a plantation house in the south that didn't have slaves in its history. and agree with bee, ben has deeper issues than this house.

A lot of people go to Georgia on vacations. I haven't been to Georgia in ages, but even then, I never got to Savannah. It's beautiful any where I was, though, and I thought the weather would agree with me so at one point it was on my list of places to move because it's cheaper there than here. czb is it just too muggy down there or is there a lot of gentrification or is it just not all it's cracked up to be? no1novice I saw that a lot of places won't do plantation weddings now. Even in the 80s, plantations weddings were popular and there was even a huge soap couple at the time that had one (Bo and Hope from Days of Our Lives). As for Casey, this reasoning never makes sense to me. Famous people can move heaven and earth to do anything they want, but they can't take a flight to spend a day at a wedding and leave. Maybe the reason is legit, but unless you're in the middle of filming a movie on the opposite side of the world, or there is a dire family emergency, it seems odd to me that you wouldn't make a little time... Meanwhile, in West Virginia... dlisted

^^^ there are some nice places in GA, cumberland island, st simon's, atlanta, savannah stick out in my mind. but it is super hot there and august is probably the hottest time.
and i think it's awesome that jennifer OG went to a big box store instead of the wedding. and WHY would she go to that wedding, anyway??
casey's excuse made no sense.

She looks like she's had some work done on her face. That first picture doesn't even look like her.
