I don't know if I can stomach Ryan Murphy's version of the Menendez brothers story. I read a blurb about him having the brothers kiss for some reason (I don't recall ever reading a sexual relationship between the brothers, only the incest abuse from the father to his sons).
But on a tangent re: the Menendez brothers' story, I watched Mastermind: To Think Like a Killer, Hulu's documentary on Ann Burgess. She was the lady who helped the FBI behavioral science unit start analyzing serial killers. They based Anna Torv's character in Mindhunter on her. She testified on behalf of the Menendez brothers in their court case, and was a life-long powerful victim's advocate. She also worked with Andrea Constand, the first Bill Cosby victim to win a civil settlement from Cosby, which precipitated all his other victims coming forward.
Such a good documentary. Biggest thing that stuck in my head was when they asked one of the first serial killers they caught why he killed little girls, he started crying and said "I don't know why I do the things I do." As opposed to the very articulate Ed Kemper who knew exactly why and told them everything.

After Shogun won all the drama Emmys I decided to check it out. I only watched the first episode, and while it was very good, I don't think I'll continue it. There are things that stuck with me days later and I don't think I can keep watching. I loved that series, I watched it when it came out as the original one is one of Swede's favourite, he had me watch it and I thought it was way too dated to be enjoyable. So we were really looking forward to this one. I do hope they continue the story, there's so much potential, and the actors were so good, I want more! 9 years later, I am finally watching The Expanse, as I've heard way too many food things about it. It starts slow, but 3 episodes in, I'm intrigued |

They weren’t. Though the series claims that Lyle briefly abused erik (recreating José’a abuse on him and which is apparently fairly common in abuse victims). But the series also follows dominick dunne’s (played by Nathan Lane) coverage of the trial. And he’s the one that speculated that the sexual abuse was bullshit and that the brothers were in an incestuous relationship and their mother found out about it and that’s what they were trying to cover up with their murders, so I think the scene you’re referring to shows that but it’s just a recreation of dunne’s preposterous theory. |

Started watching Evil (paramount plus). Lots of spooky, goofy fun, and Christine Lahti looks amazing, I can’t believe she’s in her 70’s.

Into The Fire is a pretty good Netflix crime documentary. I hadn't heard of the case involved before watching, so it was quite surprising.

I unexpectedly watched the entire first season of Maxima, about how she became the Queen of the Netherlands. It was fun and actually pretty good, and mostly focused on her struggle to accept her father's part in the military dictatorship, so it wasn't just a fluff piece. I don't know how it was accepted by the Dutch, but it made me like both Maxima and William-Alexander. And the girl playing Maxima is adorable, like a young Mira Sorvino.
