I started watching Hotel cocaine which obviously is set in 1989’s Miami. A hotel manager is forced to infiltrate his brother’s cocaine business to bring him down. I only watched the first episode so far but I enjoyed it. It’s on MGM which I didn’t even know I had. My brother found it.

Shrinking 2 epis in, so far it’s entertaining enough. So weird to see Harrison Ford at 82, I still pictured him as Indiana Jones. 😎

Started on My Lady Jane, which is a very loose retelling of the Lady Jane Grey story. They've thrown the history books out the window, but it's fun, even if it's far-fetched, and the 2 leads are super cute together. I started it as well, and god I love it, it's delightfully silly. I can't believe some people are upset that the king is black and gay and that it's not "historical", jesus Christ there are magic people in that show but god forbids the king is black XD The narrator is fucking hilarious, his tone, lines and delivery just add an extra pinch of silly to the show and I'm here for it. The little sister is fabulously rude, I'm also here for it XD And weirdly enough, the costumes aren't half as bad, they're very much in the "bridgerton accurate", like you can see they're not period, but they're still clearly identifiable as 16th century England. Lastly, love the music choices. Very much on the nose, but it works It has a vive that reminds me a bit of "The Great", I also loved that show (Elle Fanning and Nicholas Hoult were spectacular)

The drag queen last supper was fun, but the christians just had to throw a hissy fit about being persecuted by demonic drag queens making fiun of them. 🙄
Tried to watch Platonic, boring, annoying, and not funny at all. Gave up after 20 mins.

i'm officially bored of all the ignorant fundies getting their knickers in a twist over the feast of dionysus 'last supper'. just proves that so much christian imagery was stolen from older pantheons (like all cultures and religions do from the cultures that came before them) but they're too uneducated to know that. i'm watching the second season of 'kleo' that just dropped on netflix. awesome german show about a GDR spy around the time of unification. loved the first season, second one is off to a great start. highly recommend it if you like offbeat, dark comedies and spy stories. www.nytimes.com/2024/07/30/arts/television/kleo-review.html

Me too! I stopped around 3 episodes in. Even though it had all the features in a series that I usually like.

really? i devoured it and had to stop myself from staying up super late to watch more. it scratches the same itch as 'killing eve', 'patriot' and 'deutschland 83' and i absolutely love kleo and sven.
