Nightmare Alley, the new Guillermo Del Toro film. I like this director despite thinking most of his movies are "ok", nothing more, but at least they feel different. This one was no exception. NOT AT ALL what I expected from the trailer, but enjoyable, in a slightly disturbing way. I also expected actual supernatural things to happen, or something actually eerie, given Del Toro's love for the uncanny, but nope. Not sure if I'd recommend it or not XD

Red Notice on Netflix. Mindless fun entertainment.
Question: Ryan Reynolds always plays Ryan Reynolds. Would there be anyone else who could out-Ryan Ryan?

Scream 5 l loved it. #fresh I liked it too. Finally watched Black Mass with Johnny Depp as Whitey Bulger. I really liked it. I wish that it was made after he got transferred to a new prison and got killed. Inmates bludgeoned him, and cut out his eyes and tongue right after he was transferred to a new prison.

I watched Spencer Monday night - I shut it off with about 20 minutes left because I was tired and didn't go back to finish it yesterday so...I guess that's that.

I have my tickets to see The Batman on Friday, I hope it lives up to the hype. He faced a lot of backlash when he was cast as Bruce Wayne, but I'm expecting Pattinson to be good in that role. The trailers got me super invested in that movie, but worst case scenario, there'll be popcorn XD

I watched 2 mockumentaries: Big Man Japan www.imdb.com/title/tt0997147/?ref_=tt_urvKind of Spinal Tap meets Japanese (Power Rangeresque)Kaijus. I thought it was hilarious, and one of the weirder films I've seen. Savageland www.imdb.com/title/tt3899154/Structured as a true crime docu. The actors are perfect, if one wasn't suspending belief then you'd be easily convinced this really happened. The *accused* killer documents the night's carnage through 36 photographs...which, imho, are some of the most terrifying images I've seen in a horror.

Trailer Park Boys. I’ve been watching the series, which is hysterical and the movie is as well. Based in a Canadian Trailer park, all sorts hilarity ensues.

The Batman. LOVE IT. My favourite Batman movie so far, mostly because it drew so much from what I liked in the comics and the 90s animated series. First and foremost, Batman is a detective, not a fucking ninja, I loved the film noir atmosphere and aesthetic of the film, even if the last act was a bit too over the top for a noir film. I do really really like the fact that they understood that Batman does not only inspire fear, he also inspire hope. To quote Overly Sarcastic Productions "if you can't picture Batman comforting a child, you failed at depicting Batman. You depicted the Punisher in a silly hat" (Which was one of my qualms with the Nolan trilogy, for me that Batman felt more like the Punisher, and I didn't get at all a "Gotham" vibe from the city in those films. Way too much daylight and clean streets XD)
Pattinson is good, so is Kravitz even though her role is a bit underwhelming.

i still think michael keaton's batman was the best. i'm curious about this new one and will probably go see it. i loved the nolan ones but because of heath ledger and everything else in those movies, not so much because of batman himself - christian bale was very good but in terms of acting and being convincing as batman, this is probably sacrilegious but i think val kilmer is the second best after keaton, and then bale.

As far as unpopular opinions go, I loved Ben Affleck as Batman, and as Bruce Wayne. He was definitely the best Wayne for me. I never warmed up to Bale, I think he has the charisma and sex appeal of a stool, his prestation is overhyped because the Dark Knight is such a good film (Mostly thanks to Ledger, let's face it)
I need to rewatched the Burton ones, but I loved Batman returns, I also loved Keaton as Batman. But Pattinson as a very new and young Wayne is on top of my list with Affleck as an old and bitter Wayne.

pattinson has all the makings of a good batman, i would be surprised if he didn't do a good job. hard disagree on affleck's batman though there's just something too bro-ey about him. he was better than clooney though, that has to be some of the worst casting ever.

hard disagree on affleck's batman though there's just something too bro-ey about him. Yep, that's a fair point, but I did say that was my unpopular opinion (For real, not like when people say "oh, unpopular opinion" and then they're like "I think avocados are really good" ... well duh XD) A friend of mine hated Affleck as Batman because he gave her major asshole vibes, and I can also understand why XD Agree on Clooney too ... though I sometimes wonder, had the film been good, would it have changed his performance and what we think of it? Because honestly the film is so beyond shitty that I think it becomes hard to judge anyone's performance in it (Though I love Schwarzy´s over-the-topness in it XD)

i don't think i remember a single thing about clooney's batman movie except that i wasn't impressed with it and that he was horribly miscast in the role so in my case, it's not the awfulness of the movie that stands out. it's not even that his acting is necessarily bad, it's just that he's so badly suited for the part that it just ruins the whole thing. it would be like casting the dude from ted lasso as james bond or something.
