That new JLo and Josh Duhamel movie. It was fucking terrible. Don't waste your time. I saw it too. I thought it would be a brainless "cute" movie. It was horrible. JLo’s “Maid in Manhattan” years back is the only movie that I’ve ever fallen asleep to in a theater.

Watched "The Whale" last night. Brandon's Fraser's performance was great. The movie itself is sad and dark. Brandon's character could have easily been someone you don't care about but he adds such vulnerability you are moved by him.
The other performances were ok though. Some of the acting was distracting (disclaimer: I have a real pet peeve to actors "yelling" their lines unless in some pivotal moment where it is called for so take my review of the other cast with a pinch of salt if you must. IDK yelling 80% of your lines makes you obnoxious to me and a lazy actors. There are hundreds of ways to express anger and pain).

The Whale's Brendan Fraser (pictured with partner Jeanne Morre) was the only film acting winner (SAG Awards) not from Everything Everywhere All At Once.

We watched a Vietnamese prequal action film on Netflix called Furies last night and it was quite good. It definitely benefited from not being Hollywoodised (no cheap wisecracks after a brutal takedown, which was refreshing). We're going to try and find some time to watch the original (Furie) this weekend.

I watched This is Where I Leave You over the weekend (I think it's from 2014, so not a new release, LOL). It was really enjoyable and helped my Sunday anxiety

I watched This is Where I Leave You over the weekend (I think it's from 2014, so not a new release, LOL). It was really enjoyable and helped my Sunday anxiety I’ve seen that twice, it’s kind of a sleeper. Great cast, and where I first saw Adam Driver, Timothy Olyphant and Kathryn Hahn.

Last night, I watched "Bacarau" - a 2019 Brazilian film that is currently on rotation on premium cable. Set in Brazil. Mostly a cast of unknowns except for the legendary Warhol Factory alumnus Udo Kier, and Sonia Braga (who I didn't even see in the parts I was watching). Basically, it's about a remote, run-down town in Brazil where the villagers are being set upon (massacred) by some foreigners in order to terrorize them and drive them away. The villagers enlist outside help and fight back. It is very gory and depressing. However, it got nominated for a zillion awards by almost everyone except the biggies - Oscar's Golden Globe and Golden Globes.

I really didn't like Everything Everywhere All At Once. Is it just me? oh, the last 20 minutes is so great. I cried, sloppy tears, in the theater when we watched it. I was not expecting it to be so touching. Then, I read some review by 1st gen Asian Americans and how the movie touched a very specific place in their hearts.

The Interview www.imdb.com/title/tt2788710/?ref_=nm_flmg_t_25_prdI had never even heard of this movie but it came up as a suggestion on Hulu for me. I havent been sleeping well, so I put it on thinking I would just fall asleep to it. WRONG. It was hilarious.

Dungeons and Dragons, honor amongts thieves - I had no expectations whatsoever, mostly went to see it because i*m a huge nerd, and honestly it was fun, and entertaining. The movie doesn't take itself too seriously, the cast is just great, Chris Pine and Hugh Grant are just so enjoyable in this film, that you end up spending a delightful hour and a half or so. Bring your kids, it's fun.
