Thanks, everyone. Arghhhhh. I specifically googled this weekend to see where it is, and the information I had said it was not on Prime. I must have looked at an old news item or something. I do have Prime. Not sure if Mrs Mo will watch it with me because people keep going "ohhh, bathroom scene!!!", LOL......

the bathroom scene was more funny to me than anything else but i'm way more squeamish about other stuff, like puke.

I googled it too and while it sounds a bit grim, I don't think it'd have me freaking out the way some people are saying. I might give it a go at the weekend.

the bathroom scene was more funny to me than anything else but i'm way more squeamish about other stuff, like puke. Yeah, same here. You know what makes me squeamish? Scenes with awkwardness, high-emotion, or someone confronting betrayal. It's almost never something something like bodily fluids. Our daughter and son are the same way as me - can handle gross and violent stuff, but not awkward stuff. But Mrs Mo? She can handle really emotional awkward stuff in movies and real life but is the one who has like a visceral reaction to something physically gross in a movie. A great example is "The English Patient". I wasn't fazed at all by Ralph Fiennes' condition after he was burned. Mrs Mo, however, had a really strong reaction. The thing is, during her childhood, she was exposed firsthand to way more death and suffering than my kids and I were. I think seeing something like that takes her right back to those memories. I really need to remind myself to not take that lightly and understand where it probably comes from. Thank you for listening to my Ted Talk!

I know what you mean and I’m the same. I’m don’t like a lot of cringe humour because of that

Hey, I think I saw the whole first half of "Saltburn" last night. It had been a while since we watched anything on Prime, my smart tv acted like it need to get reacquainted with Amazon or something. Anyway, the biggest impression I have so far, it is one of the most beautifully shot movies I've ever seen. I mean in terms of color balance, lighting, saturation. Everything just looks rich and amazing.
Barry Keoghan is pretty good for this role. He definitely has a disarming, but enigmatic quality to him that makes him seem capable of doing what he is doing in the film. Kind of like how he was in "Killing of a Sacred Deer". It is kind of disconcerting to see how tiny he is compared to Jacob Elordi and Archie Madekwe.
It's weird to see Elordi be a genuinely nice person. To the point where it is difficult to suspend disbelief. Madekwe is terrific as the envious, troublemaking cousin.
Also, I didn't realize until just now that was Carey Mulligan as "Poor Dear Pamela"! I know I kind of thought it looked like her, but I feel like her presence in the film wasn't really promoted. Wow, she is beautiful. Her clothing, makeup and hair are so out there. Kind of like someone you would see in a Peter Greenaway film (super stagey).
I can see why people reacted kind of strongly to some scenes. The bathwater scene is long and very closeup, LOL. The scene in the courtyard with Venetia is even crazier in my opinion based on how it starts and plays out.
So far, Rosamund Pike is not really a pivotal part of the movie. I'm getting the impression she is later, though.
I should be able to finish this tonight.
ETA - also wanted to say that I thought it was great that this movie was conceived, written and directed by a woman (Emerald Fennell). She also directed "Promising Young Woman", which was really hard to watch. It seems like she has a lot of great ideas, and I hope she helps push the door open for movies made and originated by women. I think I would watch pretty much anything she comes up with at this point.

Or humiliation scenes (Or that scene where a woman who didn't ask anything is being asked for a date in front of an audiance, my second hand embarrassement is too real for me to handle) But gore and puke? Yeah am fine XD
