Sorry, didn't even know we had a thread. I binged it right before the second season started. Talked a little about it with a few others in the What are you Watching thread.
I'm not worried about spoliers. I try to stay away from a thread if I'm not up to date. if I wander in anyway, that's my own fault.

I've been dodging reading anything about season 2, because I have to borrow an account to watch it, so I'm waiting for all the episodes to air & then will binge it. So I haven't read anything new in this thread.
I just want to know, is this season good or not? I'm afraid of being let down for some reason.

I missed it because I was at the beach, but watched it last night with our daughter. It was cray-cray, even by Yellowjackets standards. I mean, one crazy scene or plot twist after another. Elijah Wood's character is totally off the chain in this episode. Lots of tables turning. Misty (Samantha Hanratty) is a major scene stealer and catalyst for action in the flashback scenes. It's pretty striking to see what she looks like in real life compared to her character. I'm totally in love with Sophie Thatcher. Lots of mysticism and believing in an otherworldly force that they have to listen to and obey again. Without giving away the finale, a lot of plot things get tied off but it's clear that this is going into Season 3 since a lot of the flashback characters have not yet appeared in Season 1 or 2 yet.

This is the type of thing that I was concerned about. It smacks of "we've painted ourselves into a corner, so let's explain it away with it being supernatural." (I'm looking at you, LOST! That show aggravated me so bad that I skipped a few seasons, then my husband filled me in, & I watched the last season & was livid that I wasted my time. The very thing the writers said they wouldn't do, they did. I was so pissed I could've chewed through steel. I'm glad to know that they do tie up some loose ends. That alone will make it worth the watch. Curious about the flashback characters. I hope they add something to the show instead of just taking up the screen.

That alone will make it worth the watch. Curious about the flashback characters. I hope they add something to the show instead of just taking up the screen. There is a major flashback character who still has not appeared in this season. I don't want to even say if they are male or female but they were a big part of the flashback action and kind of a conscience for the group. Very tragic and horrifying things happening with them but clearly they are not either dead or alive yet by Season 2 end. There is an additional flash-forward character whose life is being depicted sporadically this season but has not intersected at all with the rest of the flash-forward group, so it seems like a hint at what might happen with Season 3. My daughter and I were also discussing how there are around 2-3 characters who have names but do not drive the plot at all. The writers could totally pull them out of a hat to help with a plot line next season. They did this precise thing with a flash-forward character who did not appear at all last season, but was in many of the flash-forward seasons this season. The mysticism thing is left up to people's own assessment. So far, everything is grounded in reality. To the extent that anything weird happens, it looks like it is an accident of cruel (or lucky) fate.

I didn't think this season was nearly as good as the first season. The way that the ending was wrapped up all neatly for adult Shawna was comical at best. Then the removal of one of the best characters/actors in the show left a sour taste in my mouth.
I'll keep watching because I am curious about the underground tunnel system and the rescue but I'm pretty set with the adult storylines (with the exception of Misty and Walter) but if it starts to get all supernatural I'll probably won't continue to future seasons.

^^ Yeah. it was kinda baffling that they killed her off, unless her contract was up and she wanted to leave.

^^ Yeah. it was kinda baffling that they killed her off, unless her contract was up and she wanted to leave. She's on another series that is just starting, so maybe that has something to do with it. What's weird about this situation is that when a flashback character dies in a flashback, it's really obvious they aren't going to be in any of the present-day scenes. But when a present-day character is killed off, their character is still going to be in all the flashback scenes. But you know they are a "dead man/woman walking".

I binged this last weekend. I didn't realize I have Showtime with my Paramount+ subscription, so I could've watched this in real time.
That being said, I didn't like this season, overall. And I definitely did not like the ending!
Not sure if I'll bother watching season 3.

Didn’t like Season 2 much either. It seemed not in keeping with Season 1, aside from “hey, we have a secret about it all” hlbyt danged if I don’t love Juliette Lewis so I kept watching.
