Aw thank you!
Miele did come out top of the Which reports but I haven't got that kind of cash to spend.
I love my other AEG Appliances but will probably go Hotpoint as it has an anti-allergy wash that would be good for my chest

I agree about Whirlpool. They used to be a good company back in the day, but now they're crap.

Everyone I know with a Samsung anything, other than small electronics, hates it. My aunt updated her kitchen and laundry room about ten years ago with all Samsung appliances. Every appliance, aside from the oven, has had to be repaired or replaced. The houses around me were offered with an appliance package that included Samsung laundry rooms. So many people complain about their washing machines. My friend has had leaking issues twice and Samsung refused to replace the washer, even though it was a recurrence of the original issue.
We have LG. This time we bought a top loader. We had the LG front loaders when we lived in Seattle, but sold them along with the house. We also had a Bosch dishwasher and i really liked it.

There is a brand called "AEG"? Someone once said, "Don't buy a Samsung product that has moving parts." I wish I had heard it before we bought their stuff for kitchen. Our second Samsung microwave since 2015 has just died. I’ve heard bad stuff about Samsung appliances too.

You guys are scaring me. We also got all Samsung when we re-did our kitchen, I think it's been 9 years ago. Stove, microwave, dishwasher, fridge. We wanted them all to match. Haven't had one problem with any of them.
I have a retro red fridge downstairs and someone on FB was saying how lousy they were (Galanz) and I'm like, I've had mine for 3 years and it's fine. Just lucky I guess.

I think that if they are going to go wrong they go just around when the 1 year warranty runs out in my cynical mind!
I love your red washers, so cute!

I went for a 8kg 1400 spin black front loader Hotpoint. £250. Approx £120 cheaper than in a high street store because it's just been new-modelled.
I pick it up tomorrow/later today.

We have the LG front loading dryer and I've hated it since the day it was delivered. Wanted to return it but I sat on it too long and the window expired. Anyway, I like Whirlpool or GE.

Out with the old & in with the new! I had unplumbed & moved my old washer out & just about go my new one out of my car by the time my mate appeared to help. The new one is twice as heavy as my old one. It's currently on a cotton wash & it started spinning (I could tell as I was sat in the kitchen opposite it). Thing is, I had to turn the radio/podcast down to hear it spin!!! Weird after my last washer was quite noisy even before the bearing started to go.

Moving this from the "My Crisis" thread:
Today's Crisis: The 15-year-old fridge gave up this morning. Ordered a new one from Lowe's, having it delivered on Tuesday. Two bags of ice and two coolers later, I'm "camped out" in the kitchen. New fridge is nice though; double doors on top and bottom, stainless, Whirlpool.
In related news, the folks in the ice department at local drug stores are getting to know me.

Dark Jr and I have been living out of a Coleman Cooler since last Wed. My 20 year old Kenmore finally went kaput. But a new stainless steel Whirlpool is coming tomorrow! The current situation: The old Kenmore side by side: The new Whirlpool!

I will echo about Samsung appliances. We got a Samsung oven a few years ago and it caught fire. There was a malfunction with the oven temperature. Never again.

I have a set of red LG front loaders and I love them. My friend's have those in gunmetal I think. It's like having rolls royce in the laundry room. Believe it or not, I called my appliance dealer to help a client replace a small stacking W/D. They had a Miele before but it was very old. He said trust me on this, get a Speed Queen for them. Nothing fancy, never breaks, a work horse, last many years. Speed Queen was a brand that wasn't glamorous and had a good rep like Maytag in the states. Nov - you got an Aga oven didn't you? How is it?

My mum just got an air fryer for the bargain price of £30 because it was the last one in stock and that particular line/style has been discontinued. She got it because the temperature dial for her oven has broken off and she's refusing to buy a new cooker as she rarely uses anything more than one ring on the hob now that she's cooking for one. I've never used one so I don't know if they are worth it or are more hassle than ordinary cooking but for £30 it's cheap enough to experiment with.
